Next up on @idlecellars mix series we have a dear friend, legendary Dj, selector and producer @felix-dickinson blessing us with his unique style and effortless flow. Some sweet unknowns and a few lost classics thrown in, a perfect journey from start to finish.

Felix has been part of the UK's underground dance scene for the last 3 decades, learning his trade DJing at free parties and illegal raves and co-founding his first record label Ugly Music in the 90's. He's produced records for well renowned record labels worldwide including DFA, Rush Hour, Eskimo, Golf Channel, Claremont 56, Futureboogie and his own label Cynic.

He has secured slots at well known clubs and festivals across the globe, and the last few years have seen him receive a lot more attention due to his high profile residencies for Block 9 (Glastonbury) and Croatia’s Love International as well as regular appearances at Houghton, Gottwood, Thailand’s Wonderfruit festival and regular tours of Japan, the USA and beyond.
 
Felix:

"The brief for this mix was something that you could listen to with a glass of wine in your hand as the sun goes down. It’s a pretty mellow early evening selection, something you can unwind to at the end of the day, but get’s a little more lively as the second and third glass goes down, so could just as easily be something to bung as you’re getting ready to go out."

Freestyle and Wax records honcho Juan Nunez has been holding it down for over 20+years playing amazing dance music and repping the west side properly. Juan established Wax records, a vital store and component of the LA music scene for years, and put out some very serious edits on his freestyle label (under the moniker J.E.N.), as well as releasing work by The Drunk and The Idjut Boys. A tremendous fluid DJ Juan's sets often seem effortlessly constructed and encompass a broad range of sounds. We are thrilled to have this OG join the podcast series. Humberto Matias (Social Disco Club) has been one of the major producers of Nu-disco sounds in the past 5-6 years, His track "The Way you Move" was a huge critical success, and showcased many of the trademarks of his production style: (smooth but funky, with a great bass line and tremendous swing) It was a track that could always be counted on to impact the dance floor and create an instant vibe. Humberto has put out records on Bear Funk, Mindless Boogie, Is it Balearic, and his own Hands of Time label. In addition to his rapidly accrued discography of great jams, Humberto has been playing world wide, delivering sets as on point as the one you are about to hear.
