Artemis Fink are a folk-rock outfit from Brisbane. Their soulful lyrics supported by a solid, yet delicate instrumentation gives a fresh energy to the genre.

The five piece have crafted a sound that blends a well developed old-school production with a unique approach to song structure and melody - similar in vibe to bands like Snow Patrol and Something for Kate but with a more complex, layered sound.

Crafting such works as All the Craze and Church Yard Pew are great examples of the stylistic pallet we can come to expect from Artemis Fink, blending acoustic and electric instruments, thick sounds drums and great vocals that all come together to tell such emotive stories both lyrically and sonically.

Their upcoming EP will be released end of October 2013, with a full length album to follow late in 2014.

Born in 1990, Grew up in Zulia/Venezuela where he began studying drums with Robinson León at the age of nine, at that time while he was learning basic and intermediante fundamentals of the instrument, he played drums at his local church where he gained experience.

At age 10 he knows about Alvaro Lopez's work with bands like "Torre Fuerte" and "ResQband" which had an important influence in his playing. Over the time his interest by the instrument increased and he started studying odd meters, metrical modulations and new independence concepts by himself, this made him know about drummers like Marco Minnemann, Gavin Harrison, Terry Bozzio and their work not only as drummers but as composers. At the same moment started performing his first compositional experiments.

Few years Later his interests for music, drums and composition are more obvious and decided studying in Zulia University (LUZ) specializing in percussion trough UNEARTE, this studies are an important aspect in the basis of his formation not only as professional drummer but as composer and thus also the starting point for the learning of other instruments like classic piano, keyboard and bass guitar. Although an oriented education focused mostly in the classic music world, he decided studying the theoretical part in an independent way through transcriptions, books, and all of the Jazz/Rock/Fusion oriented material which led him to know important influences like Alex Machacek, Allan Holdsworth, Conlon Nancarrow, Trey Gunn, just to name a few of them.

Nowadays he works in the production process of his solo album, clinics and educational material as independent musician as well as collaborations around the world through the internet.
