I started work on this track almost 2 years ago just as we were going into lockdown. Unfortunately I developed a hearing problem in my left ear that required surgery so had to take a step back, can you imagine no music throughout lockdown!!!!!!!  anyhow finally things are good now, thankfully.
                 I hope you like this R&B styled track, this is the first of 2 I was working on!! I have been working Frantically like a robot to get it mixed...hence robot mix.... I also added a robotic count in because I'm nuts!!!! thankyou for all the support!!!

Delighted to present my latest collaboration with The Phaige, one half of Soundcloud stalwarts One and Other, alongside Jaime J Ross. This is a trippy, exotic backcloth with a cold North wind blowing through. 
Gary once again amazed with his creativity and his multi-layered production. He has such a keen ear for detail and brushstrokes to enhance and improve. What grabbed me from the outset was the slinky, fluid bass playing, but there are many levels across the frequencies to hook you in. Always a fun process to work with him.

This is a slightly different track again. I took advantage of Masha's Open Collap offer, who recorded a meditation for relaxation in her calm, pleasant voice. I tried to underlay these with also relaxing sounds. Because a relaxation phase lasts a little longer, this track is also very long. Otherwise it doesn't work. For me it works, I actually fell short asleep when checking the finished recording with headphones while lying on the couch ;).

A Guided Meditation For Relaxation. An Imaginary Paradise - Masha Solo & OMCB

This is a song that originated with Eddy, who sent it to Tez and me to spice up. His original stems were guitar and organ. Tez added the riddim and a rhythm guitar track, as well as produced and mixed the whole thing. To that, I added the bass and some electric piano. I really enjoy working with nutty if these guys a lot! They both have such a great sense of authentic dub. I always really enjoy listening to what we come up with together. I hope you do, too.

Hindsight

"Spring Chicken" (Edit: Mastered with Ozone on September 28, 2023) 

I can't help it, I just have to keep playing these songs. 

We had a minor "setback" with the spring here in the north in that after a good start we've had a kind of cold spell for quite some time (minus degrees at nights, +5 Celsius in the day time). But as of today May 9th 2023 the spring finally is of more permanent nature:)! So in order to properly celebrate the development I tried to make a little song partly in late 70's and early 80s' style. I used Rhodes sound and the Native Instruments Abbey Road 70s Drummer (the drum beat is mine and some of the fills are from the 70s Drummer) and also some synth sounds that were used in the late 70's (especially the CS-80 sound), and I layered the synth sounds with e.g. the DX7 and MKS-20 soundscapes. The awesome bass is the Scarbee Jay-Bass (late 70's Jazz Bass) software instrument.

The keyboard part consists of a layer of the Scarbee EP-88S (Rhodes), the new Rhodes V8 Pro (Rhodes Mk8) and "The Twenty" from the UVI Key Suite Digital (cf. MKS-20). In addition I used a DX7 lead sound played with Yamaha Montage and also the somewhat newer UVI Six-12 from the "Ob Legacy" software instrument collection ("Ob-12 Brass" sound) and layered them with the lead sound I made with the Arturia CS-80 V. The strings come from the UVI Orchestral Suite.

This track is in a way a humble tribute to the great composer and the best bassist off all times Mr. Jaco Pastorius, who's signature song was the tune "Chicken" by Mr. Pee Wee Ellis.

This track is also a kind of tribute to the wonderful Casio PT-50 which was my first ever keyboard and which I will always remember. The Casio had some lovely demo songs which had "the breeze" in them, meaning e.g. that they felt like the warm summer wind on a beautiful summer day.

"The Turtle Project" started out as exactly that, a project, a songwriting project that was born from years of being a musician in many bands, doing countless gigs, naturally gathering experience and inspiration until, one day, I stumbled upon the fact that I could actually put those experiences and many others into words. The composing aspect grew from that into what it is today ...
