The SAG-AFTRA Radio Plays Committee (SARP) produces radio plays and workshops that provide an opportunity for members to showcase their talent(s) to as many people in and out of the entertainment industry as they possibly can in a fun, safe, clean, diverse, supportive, entertaining and educational environment. By producing and workshopping these events, the committee illuminates and illustrates the origins of SAG-AFTRA’s past and encourages members to become more involved in their union through performance and leadership. The Kurt Ribak Trio – Kurt says his music is “Charles Mingus meets The Meters. They go to Duke Ellington’s house to jam; Cachao and Thelonious Monk sit in.” Kurt has shared the stage with circus performers, preachers and fire-breathing strippers, but never all three at once.  He's performed in venues ranging from Yoshi's to a club where someone stashed a loaded .45 in his bass bag.  Kurt rarely plays there any more.

Kurt graduated summa cum laude in performance from Berklee College of Music. A fifth Kurt Ribak recording, “Onward,” will be released May 2018 on Rodia Records, with a May 7th release concert at Berkeley’s Freight & Salvage.

Since about the 1830s until today, there has been a tradition of telling ghost stories on Christmas eve. In the spirit, ha ha, of this tradition, regular cast member Crystal Why tells us a ghost story, told on location from a haunted house on Russian Hill in San Francisco.
