Coming from a part of Tampa, Florida known as Thonotosassa resides Jamaican native John Lawrence better known as “Juno Di Genna”. The dialect of Patois gave him the artist name during his high school and college years. Juno, originally a nickname, was extended into Juno Di Genna referencing Jamaican slang “general” basically implying that no matter what he does, he will take over like a general. The ambitious 22 year old rapper began his career while going to college in Orlando, Florida where he felt the timing was finally right to pick up a pen and flow. Now 2 years in the game, Juno Di Genna has accomplished feats such as performing in the Coast 2 Coast showcase competition and making it to the top 3 finalists. Consequently Juno derives inspiration from artists such as Rico Nasty. Although his taste in music seems unprecedented compared to what he represents, his music follows along the lines of what someone would expect from Lil Uzi Vert or the deceased talent xxxtentacion. His single “Ayee” featuring Bob Mally out on all platforms weighs in on the pressures that come with being in the music industry.
