The Iowa Music Showcase is just what the name says, a showcase for Iowa music.

But it is a showcase for ALL of Iowa’s music, regardless of style, genre, decade, popularity, or location.

For the purposes of this webiste and occasional podcast, I am defining Iowa music as music made by a band or artist that was based in Iowa at the time of the recording.

Each week, the blog post will feature some source - like a website, playlist, app, or some such - where you can find and/or hear music from Iowa. If you know any sources, send me an email at iowamusicshowcase@gmail.com.

Every month (sometimes more often), the website will include a podcast that you can download.

The Benson Songwriter Exchange provides a supportive environment for songwriters to experiment with new methods and ideas. Stonebelly is a hard working, promoting, and touring band - winning crowds over with their solid cross-genre blend of rock music. After releasing their debut CD 'Free Spirit : Lost Soul' in 2012 they released their follow-up record 'Perspectives & Perceptions' in April of 2014 which helped put them on the map. Named one of the top Nebraska bands to watch out for by Paste magazine, they are currently touring and working on material for a new album which promises to be quite different than their previous work - Look for a late 2017, early 2018 release date.
