Visionary producer Ilija Rudman confidently lands into the Black Jukebox catalogue with a truly mesmeric 2-tracker.
Based in Zagreb, Ilija has carved a legacy over more than two decades in the game throughout which he's released over 100 vinyl EPs and 8 studio albums, collaborating with the likes of Robert Owens, Greg Wilson, Faze Action and Ron Trent.
'Euphonia' opens up with a suave slice that melds deep Detroit shades with the flexible Electro funk of Morgan Geist and Clatterbox. A sawtooth bass climbs steps in the low end while gorgeous synths bend and glide at the groove's core. Crisp, delicate drums kick, snap and shuffle as they guide a low-slung, retro-futuristic trip to the moon.
'Late Checkout' draws for a similar sound palette as rich analogue pads form a magic carpet for Prelude-era synth phrases and another sneaking bass line. The tone is elegant and nothing feels forced as Ilija Rudman traverses the vast sonic territory between Salsoul-era Disco and modern Electro-funk in the most fluent and stylish manner.

The twelfth release of the Apparel’s limited catalogue is a brand new 4 tracks EP called “Signals” by the Mancunian featuring a 4-hands collaboration with @harrywolfman and a remix by @jad-lee. Every single track has been chosen carefully since the beginning of the project to make this record a representative work of the artist who perfectly blends his musical knowledge with the label’s imprint. Side B begins with the whimsical chords of “It’s Not So Cold In Tromso” where the artist takes the listener to a brief and intense trip to see the Norwegian northern lights; the track is made by a strong rhythm section and flighty, far-out, harmonies which really evoke Scandinavian landscapes.

The title track is a tribute to Manipolato’s underground vocal house background when he was living in New York City lower east side as an active member of the local club scene. Featuring amazing vocals from a well-known house legend (can you guess who?) make sure to prepare your dancing shoes for a soulful journey back in time. The EP also features the Afro House influenced remix by DJ Thor and 2 more original tracks. Always Good Vibes with a Hard Twist!


MANIPOLATO (aka Latino Pellegrini) is an Italian DJ/Producer, musician, filmmaker and the founder of Defora Records. Active as a DJ since the late 90's in the New York scene, Manipolato's first EP “Medications” was released on vinyl in 2003 by Red Menace Records, with a dope remix by Gus Gus. Both behind the decks and in the studio, Manipolato delivers a unique blend of Techno, Deep & Tech House and Old School Grooves. His discography is also filled with several collaborations and remixes for artists such as Elisa, Anna Cavazos, Ricky Leo and Sound Shapes. In 2015 he founded his own label Defora Records with the main goal to create a growing family of talented artists from around the globe and to release only quality music for the dance-floor. Currently based in Italy, he’s an active figure in the local underground scene, as he continues to produce and to perform his music in clubs worldwide.
