DoZ starts playing guitar at 14 on a nylon acoustic guitar.
3 months later, after taking some lessons, he buys his first electric guitar.
Listening to bands such as Rage Against The Machine or Metallica, he starts to find out his vocation for experimental guitar solos and heavy metal riffs.
 
At 16, his musical journey have been changed for ever when he saw the "G3 2005 : Live In Tokyo" for the first time … Steve Vaï and John Petrucci (from Dream Theater) who became his idols.
From this day, progressive music have become an essential part of his guitar playing.
 
In 2009, he plays in "Leatherface" as lead guitarist, a heavy metal cover band, doing some gigs in France and Spain.
The next year, he joined "Music Academy International" (the famous music school, in Europe) and learned from the best musicians. (Steve Lukather, Greg Howe, Allan Holdsworth, Hassan Hajdi, Manu Livertout, Kermheat, Daniel Peroine, etc …) An experience that changed his way of thinking music, working hard on harmony, technique and most of all : Groove.
 
Today, he is playing in the Progressive Rock band "First Shade" as lead guitarist and songwriter, he is also releasing his very first solo record called "Smart Shredding" (as multi instrumentist and self producer), written during his year at MAI, and he is going to do some gigs in Dubaï (UAE) with a 80s hard-rock cover band. 
 
DoZ is now looking forward to live in the United States (of America) and start his professional career for real.

WHAT DOES "SMART SHREDDING" MEAN ?
 
This is a concept, as you know, most people are thinking about "Shred" as a pejorative connotation because of the billion notes played over the guitar neck, whammy bar abuse, and other stuff …
 

With "Smart Shredding", i am trying to return the real interest in "Shred", i.e. beautiful melodies, guitar experimentation, without the "nonsense billion note contest" … in other words, guitar skills serving your own mind.
 
IS NOT THAT SO MUCH BIG-SOUNDING "SMART" SHREDDING ?
 
Actually, at firt sight, it might be perceived as it, of course, but on the other hand, this is a nice catchphrase to take a new look at "Guitar Shredding", don't you ?
 
SO WITH YOUR FIRST RECORD "SMART SHREDDING", YOU ARE TRYING TO SETTLE THE QUARREL BETWEEN SHREDDERS AND THE OTHER MUSICIANS ?
 
In other words, yes but i am trying to mix up progressive music with "Smart Shredding" abilities, and a bit of electronica to create this brand new genre of contemporary music.
