"Brooklyn producer and DJ, Tygapaw, has shared a severe edit of Dawn Richard's former band Danity Kane ahead of RUDE GYAL, Tygapaw's Fake Accent collective's closing party for the MAMI exhibition at Knockdown Center in Queens this Saturday. For the track, Tygapaw, real name Dion McKenzie, takes on the almost baroque-sounding "Bad Girl" featuring Missy Elliot, off 2008's Welcome to the Dollhouse, interpolating it with work from Russian producer AN SYSTEM—the result sounds like an assembly of machines tearing each other apart in polyrhythmic synchrony, bringing the a cappella into a slightly more unglued and exhilarating register."
