I have always liked the 3/4 polyrhythm with a four to the floor kick. It is so mesmerizing to listen too. Add a bit of swing, some progressive filters and effects, and you have "prog". A nice progressive house track to get lost in. Reese bass under tones, ambient pads, just a solid collections of pleasing sounds.

Beatfreak Recordings pairs two of progressive music’s brightest stars in Betoko and Haze-M on ‘Addiktive Cikle’. Hailing from Mexico and Tunisia respectively, Betoko and Haze-M are two of the genres most sought after artists, so it only makes sense that they present their first ever collaborations on D-Formation’s highly touted Beatfreak Recordings.

Beginning with the groovy, astral sounds of the title cut it’s clear that the studio synergy between the two is on point. Fresh and dramatic across it’s concise seven minute running time, it’s a delight to listen to and certainly full of great dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, spacey arps add a serene, meditative vibe, before eventually melting down into a break of tripped out electronics. The beauty lies in the drop, unassuming and undeniably groovy with fresh rhythmic qualities, no doubt set for a massive reaction on a clued up dance floor. The companion piece ‘Homesick’ comes with more of a straightforward peak time approach. Charged beats and electric lines set a dramatic mood early as an epic synth lead fades to prominence. Not without emotive moments and furthering the piece’s grandiose appeal, the main break showcases waves of warm overlays and chirpy electronics, resulting in a near two minute stretch of sonic bliss. Expect a massive reaction from this one as well.

Beatfreak always makes incredible remixer choices and here they call upon two of the scenes finest in Nick Muir and Morttagua. First up and fresh off a remix for Watergate Records is UK artist and one half of the famed Bedrock duo Nick Muir who provides a melodic techno rework. The main themes translate well over a tough, bulbous underbelly while fiery percussion and a collage of stunning effects further tantalize the senses. Expertly crafted, the main break takes you further into the cosmos as bassy rumblings and a haze of astral designs meet in the ultimate sonic apex.

The release concludes with Morttagua making his second appearance on the label following his ‘Hourglass’ single, released courtesy of his Timeless Moment imprint. The Brazilian artist has grown into one of his country’s top progressive house producers and he continues that trend with a killer remix of ‘Homesick’. Crunchy and groovy in equal measure it’s a mix that stays true to the main themes from the original while adding a full, warm feel, particularly in the low end. The break shows Morttagua’s keen sense of dance floor dynamics with all the tension and anticipation you could ever want, executed with a subtle build and classy drop which keeps the vibe on the right side of cool. A wicked remix from Morttagua which caps off another stunning release from Beatfreak Recordings, who remain on a perpetual roll. Highly recommended.

As the first track being released under my new Tyler Mesa alias, Emanate serves as the entry in to a new phase of my music career. There’s one word that can best describe this track: theme. The goal was for it to have a certain depth beyond being just a “song”; for it to be thought provoking for listeners and to invoke inspiration in them.

I drew a lot of inspiration for this song from the movie Blade Runner 2049. This film dives in to the exploration of what it means to be human through themes of morality, identity, and the human soul. I wanted this song to capture the essence of the film through sound and hit a variety of emotional marks along the way.

Emanate is meant to showcase what my fans can expect to hear from my upcoming music in terms of musicality and depth.

'Atlantida' is the brand-new throbbing club burner from 'Two Sins'. Whether it's the deeply delicious uplifting melodies and dramatic strings of 'Atlantida', there can be no denying that the Two Sins is on a roll. His distinctive style and attention to detail marks him out, as having unique creative talent. For the full-length release, we are treated to stunning reworks from non-other than Marius Drescher & Schwarzmatt. We kick things off with original track, which brings a fusion of deep bass tones, subtle drum programming and cleverly chopped samples and intricately weaved chord progressions, building to a beautiful breakdown before gradually rebuilding the elements to an unrelenting crescendo of breathy drum licks, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline to close out this massive production. Cool stuff! First up on remix duty we see the debut of Berlin maestro Marius Drescher on ICONYC. The second remix comes from Swiss production combo Schwarzmatt whose releases have been doing the business on the dance floors of the world. Their remix flows with ease from the instant it starts, encapsulating a wealth of cool beats which are present throughout, as well as driving sounds that are met with a big low end creating a timeless bubbler that will make you move. Schwarzmatt have taken the essence of the original and wrapped it in a blanket of progressive grooves to cause havoc with your senses. What is it that attracts us to electronic music? It’s the warmth of the bass, the groove of the drums, the hypnotic melodies and lush soundscapes, but also how it helps us to connect. Connect to the sound, to each other, and to ourselves. That’s what drives him forward. He creates music to inspire connection, and puts his heart and soul in to all of his productions and sets. Since first being exposed to Trance music in the early 2000’s with labels like Anjunabeats, A State of Trance, and In Search Of Sunrise, he began soaking up as much dance music as he could. A few years later he discovered a more “techy” sound – labels like Cocoon Recordings, Hot Creations, and Crosstown Rebels were a huge influence. Naturally, his love for these two styles of music along with lots of experimentation along the way, slowly began fusing together to create his own distinct sound. 

He has performed at a variety of clubs such as Era, City at Night and Flybar in Ottawa, and Circus, Newspeak, and Nhau bar in Montreal. His releases over the years span a multitude of genres – from Trance and Psytrance to Techno, Progressive House, and Organic House. Tyler Mesa is the next phase in his music career, having spent the prior 10 years under the “Tydal” alias. A new beginning so to speak, representing the culmination of tireless dedication and experimentation until finding a sound that truly resonated.
