"Throughout musical history, brand new sounds are created, sampled, and experimented with until eventually it becomes another BRAND NEW sound inspired from THAT sound. And within each "wave" there are artists that represent that. Some have the right sound at the right time. Some are simply able to adapt enough to ride the wave. Then out of that a group, a select few have an originality that just separates them from the rest and they become superstars. I think those same artists are also the ones that have the "It" factor. Being able to have longevity while still knowing the sound/era they were able to launch from will soon change again. I love melody. The scales, the variation, the switch-ups. It's MUSIC in itself. I'm blessed to be an artist influenced by the right idols, and for the magic of timing to be on my side haha" (laughing while he explains) My niche is having the melody that I have always been inspired from while still keeping the substance, storytelling, and cleverness that Hip-Hop rose to prominence with. I think that while we LOVE the amazing new sounds, we all miss the originality of individual substance. The way we use to anticipate what Lil wayne or Jay Z would say from line to line. Thats what i bring. Sound AND Substance. The originator of something new rarely becomes the most prominent because they made it from scratch. The benefit lies within those who listen. They get to start with a "model" and go from there.

Kids from the south get in touch with their music side one way, On Sunday's at the family church. From the time young Ty Velli was being carried by his mother, he heard music. His father was a praise and worship leader. His mother sang. His cousin played drums, and his younger sister sang in the choir and took part in local competitions as well. For Ty personally, he was picking up a guitar and playing on stage on Sunday's before he even knew a cord. 

The older he got, the more musically active he became. From Christmas plays, to church choir, school chorus, and even starring in his High School's well-known "Night Of The Patriots". While loving the sound of a gospel choir, Growing up in a tight-knit Christian household kept him from listening to secular music. He would sneak to the neighbors house to hear the sounds of Boyz II Men, Usher, Aaliyah, and Mary J Blige. It was when his aunt was watching him, while his mother was away, that a then 8 year old "Ty Velli" discovered Hip-Hop. "I'll never forget it. We were at my house and my aunt had some friends over to watch the B.E.T. awards. The first time I heard anyone rap was LL Cool J performing Doing It Well. I was completely dumbfounded from that exact moment"

After his first taste of Rap, he approaches his mother about buying him a CD. The very first rap album he purchased was a double disc single of "Mrs. Jackson" by the legendary duo, OutKast. Upon listening, he notices the other disc was an instrumental version of the song, and From that moment on he started to craft his own lyrics...Music became the most important aspect of Ty Velli"s life throughout his childhood into middle school. 

Having a musically filled childhood, and adolescent years full of tragedy. It would be hard to expect a different outcome. A perfect storm. A formula that brings real stories of struggle to life through sonic perfection. His raspy, emotional, and at times "depressive" delivery hits fans right where the music comes from. The heart. Melodic harmonies over the perfect punch of bass, and "POP" of the southern snare came in perfect timing. With the sounds of Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Future, and the production of Zaytoven, Shawty Redd, and Drumma Boy. The sound, and the artists that shape it, have shot to the top of the industry and show no signs of slowing down.
