London-based producer Kincaid heads to Grid Records for the label's sixth release.

Having previously released on Banoffee Pies Records, Well Street Records and Accidental Meetings, Kincaid has clearly demonstrated a penchant for intricate sound design. Seeped in emotion, all the tracks were written within a week in February last year, deep in a lockdown. “It was a particularly difficult time for me, and the record reflects that, each track representing a catharsis with different issues". 

Ahead of the release in two weeks we have the exclusive stream of 'Stretching Distance', a track which floats in and out of focus of natural textures and organic soundscapes, whirring in blissful ambience.

"As we mark the milestone of POLAAR's 10th anniversary, we are thrilled to introduce you a brand new compilation that redefines our sonic territories and encapsulates the essence of our exploration in sound.

Driven by the desire of independence and their common passion for bass-fueled rhythms and experimental sounds, Flore and her mate Marc Weistroff decided to launch their label POLAAR ten years ago, with the ambition of shaping a unique Bass Music signature, as far as possible from any identification to the originating UK club scene. Since then, the Lyon-based imprint has been at the forefront of a musical revolution, championing diverse artists from all over the globe and pushing the limits of genre conventions through numerous events, live shows, radio appearances and releases.

All this efforts are embodied within the french word «Territoires », that is entitling each one of the label’s compilations until now and which can be defined as it follows : an expanse of land, more or less clearly delimited, which generally presents a certain unity, a particular character.

Territoires Vol.3 is a collective effort with which we have asked our label core members and a few invited artists to work on a remix of a tune taken from the POLAAR’s back catalog. It is a way to pay tribute to various releases we think are still fresh and relevant, and thus create bridges between our past and present as a sonic community and ever evolving label. A way to showcase the depth and diversity of our musical vision, without rut of styles or BPM."

[Premiere] Alpha Solo - The Doom (out on SousTraitance)

DJ and producer Oldyungmayn's multifaceted identity is layered through both his productions and performances, influencing an exhilarating musical lexicon of 90's era rave, sharpened sound design, and a wide spectrum of music from fellow Middle Eastern producers. Intelligently navigating away from a eurocentric focus with releases on platforms such as Al Gharib, Oldyungmayn has left a mark with contributions on compilations for Parkingstone and guest appearances on NTS for hosts such as Endgame and ZULI. He was a prior resident on  on stegi.radio, and since relocating to Berlin, has performed alongside prolific artists such as LCY, Cassius Select and PAN-signee STILL, in addition to lesser-known acts like Beatrix Weapons and Selim Hex from SIRENS. Most recently, he released a collaborative EP with Estoc on Thessaloniki-based Magdalena’s Apathy, with remixes from 3Phaz and Brodinski, and has performed at festivals such as CTM and FIBER in Amsterdam.

"This mix carries many of the moods I found myself playing recently at shows during my first visit to Portugal. I played the closing slot in Lisbon, and again one week later in Porto, and found the audiences at both events really receptive to my selection. This podcast for NR links my preference for frenetic and fast-paced club tracks with smoother, slower counterparts."
