After a successful 2017, Jakebob returns to Southpoint to round the year off in style. The Chameleon Audio native is one of the most versatile newcomers in the scene, being able switch between dark synth-driven half-time and dubwise melodies effortlessly. 

'Daily Star Dub' falls under the latter description, with Jakebob applying some fanatic sampling work coupled with his own unique sound design and arrangement to great effect. With an EP in the pipeline for early 2018, Jakebob is most certainly one of the new faces to be keeping an eye on.

A debutant on the 1Forty imprint that we felt just had to be showcased. One of his more grimey productions from the 22 year old producer is ‘Hydrocity’.

With releases previously on Wile Out, Project Allout Records & Electrikal Records the young Glaswegian has amassed support from fellow Scots - Polonis & Rapture 4D as well as Spooky and refix master Gundam. With opportunities few and far between north of the border until more recently for grime music in Scotland, Casement has paved his way into the scene through playing at the likes of Stereo, Broadcast, King Tuts, Kelburn Festival & Woodlands Festival whilst honing his sound in the studio for the past 5 years. With Polonis & Rapture putting the scene firmly on the map since the Red Bull Beetroots Project it’s great to see more producers coming through from the north with such a unique take on Grime music.

Casements interests go much further than just grime when it comes to underground genres as he is recognised also for his UK Funky creations which have been supported by Murder He Wrote amongst other DJ’s on Radar Radio. 2018 is looking to be the breakout year for the versatile producer with other plans in the pipeline already in place with another Label all to be revealed later this year.
