The smoothest psychedelic sound this side of the Milky Way can be found on Onward, a five track EP from the Philadelphia-based electronic musician 5AM aka Sam Andrus. Onward is the most ambitious effort yet in 5AM’s ongoing journey to blend jazz, funk and R&B with forward-thinking psychedelic bass music. Indeed, listening to Onward feels like lurking about an intergalactic jazz cafe where the atmosphere is electric, eyes are low, and harsh vibrations are checked at the door.   

As a composer and arranger 5AM comes off calm and collected yet bold on this release. He flips and flexes sounds to their limits, but there’s no overreach. Complex arrangements of liquid glitches, space-travel synthesizers and weighty basslines somehow render themselves easy for ears to follow. With an obsessive attention to detail, 5AM has earned praise from his peers for immaculate mix-downs. Across Onward, each track is clean and buttoned-up. All sonic elements - vocals, guitar (courtesy of Keith Wadsworth of Wax Future), percussion and righteous keys - fit together like a puzzle.

But qualitative analyses aside, simply plunge into the feel of Onward. The mind, hungry for inspiration and inclined towards adventure, instinctively picks up what 5AM puts down and it becomes apparent: this is a fresh sound and attitude with lasting relevance for the future.

Divining the musical direction of his fledgeling Afroterraneo imprint, Kiko Navarro presents ‘Genesis Vol.1’, a collection of tracks designed to convey the label’s spiritual essence.

Following the fleeting beauty of his “Afroterraneo Intro”, Kiko Navarro begins ‘Genesis’ with a previously unreleased deep dub version of Modaji’s “Hiroko”, originally issued on DJ Spen’s ‘Unquantize’ label. Next, Kiko delivers a hypnotic rework of Isaac Aesili’s “Red Horizon”, a track he fell in love with back in 2009 and simply couldn’t forget, finally getting to work on it almost a decade later.

Another long-time personal favourite is “My Life Is Music”, a short reprise originally created back in ’96 by Felix Da Housecat under his alias ‘The Visionary’. A staple set-closer for many years, Kiko was recently able to get his hands on the acapella and create the extended deep house version he’d been dreaming of for more than twenty years.
Finding its way to Kiko’s by way of a good old-fashioned demo, “Les Morts Et Les Vivants” is a loopy, afrobeat-fuelled cut from Swiss production duo Djudo. 
Next comes a brand new take on one of Kiko Navarro’s best known
tracks, “Soñando Contigo”, lovingly crafted by French deep and afro house maestro Manoo.

Asked to produce something especially for the label, rising star Mario Bianco delivers in the form of “Omnia Munda Mundis”, a string-laden and cinematic techno-tinged masterpiece. The potent ‘Paso Doble Remix’ of Afroterraneo’s
first release “Sea Goddess” follows, providing some sultry late-night textures. The Sunchasers close out the album with smooth terrace cut “Sambasol”; lazy, hazy sounds for the endless summer evenings to come.

From its graceful, prayer-like opener to its languid benediction, ‘Genesis Vol.1’ gives a powerful sense of Kiko’s intent for Afroterraneo.
This is music for comfort and healing, not just for dancing.

Ejeca has long been supplying music to make a dancefloor move but under his Trance Wax alias, his records have been finding their way into the recordbags of the world's most esteemed DJs.

His latest record has had support from *takes deep breath* Job Jobse, Bicep, Paul Woolford, Alan Fitzpatrick, Charlotte De Witte, Black Madonna, Jackmaster and Mall Grab.

The masterful trio of Timo Maas, Basti Grub and Eric Volta showcase their combined musical muscle on the
latest release forthcoming on supreme Berlin imprint, Mobilee. With an impressive remix package featuring
Rodriguez Jr. and Martin Buttrich to drop in the Summer.

The initial release in May delivers two variations of the title track. Opening with the original mixdown, We Were Riding
High is a sublime summer anthem. Over two years in the making, it’s a lucid after-hours track with an uplifting and
catchy vocal hook that unfolds and develops fluidly. The alternative edit utilises darker synths and drums, whilst still
retaining the positivity that make this track perfect for the coming summer months. This record is the result of Eric
Volta making the demo at an after-party at his studio. He then showed this to Timo Maas who in turn showed it to
Basti Grub who loved the track so much, they were inspired to develop it.
“What started as a night out in Berlin visiting Club Der Visionaire, Chalet and ending in Watergate continued into my
studio on Reichenbergerstrasse at about 9am. One of those fun afters which result in me grabbing whoever is near
me, a little drunk and a little high and just wanting to play instruments, synths - and JAM. As the lyric goes - We were
riding high, writing through the night” Eric Volta

“A few days later I heard that demo and immediately ask Eric to finish it as it’s so unique and, as it sometimes goes, he
didn’t finish it. I asked him many times, roughly over a period of 2 and a half years until i sat with Basti in the studio,
played it to him and we immediately made a new version, Eric loved it. And here’s the result! We are all super proud of

Two time Grammy nominated Timo Maas has an extensive musical background, spanning over thirty years. He’s
worked with some of the world’s biggest stars including Madonna, Depeche Mode and Fatboy Slim. Basti Grub heads
up his own label, Höhenregler, and is known for his exotic, African-influenced productions. He’s released on some
premium labels including Cocoon, Get Physical, Desolate and Cr2. Born in London but very well traveled, Eric Volta
shot into the spotlight with Love Your Illusion and since releases on Dirtybird, Visionquest, Four:Twenty

Uakoz is a relentlessly creative artist who dedicates his undying energy to numerous successful accomplishments.

The Italian London-based DJ and producer, since breaking through the scene with his first vinyl EP ‘’Handtrace’’ on Pig&Dan’s label Elevate in 2015, has consistently maintained the pace and showcase his works on milestone releases such as the “John Digweed Live In Tokyo” CD on his Bedrock Records and being involved in a historic moment of clubbing culture by releasing on “The Club Of 27 - Space Ibiza/ CD”.
He also gained recognition from the world’s most iconic dance music newspaper, DJ Mag, appearing in their famous magazine in November 2023.

Having highlighted his dynamic and driving textures within Techno, always in constant work on his music, he has also reached labels such as Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, Dense&Pika’s Kneaded Pains, Arjun Vagale&Ramiro Lopez Odd Recordings, Monika Kruse’s Terminal M, Planet Rhythm, Off Recordings, and consequently, sees his music being played in renowned dancefloors such as Berghain, Awakenings, Nocturnal Wonderland, Extrema Outdoor Festival, Fabric, ZUL, Fabrik (ES), and many more, from artists like Carl Cox, Marco Bailey, Drumcell, Chris Liebing, Paul Ritch, Freddy K, Juliet Fox, Adam Beyer, Mattia Trani, to name a few.

DJ-wise, Uakoz’s sets traverse the full spectrum, from old-school techno to deeper, more melodic vibes; it is all about the vibe of the room that surrounds him. His versatility as a selector has earned him bookings across London, including renowned venues such as Junction2, Outernet, E1, Village Underground, Fabric, EGG, and in different cities like Berlin (Sisyphos), Amsterdam (Melkweg), Barcelona, Nantes, Croatia, Poland, and beyond Europe in Bahrain and in the States precisely in Los Angeles.

Along the way as a worldwide special guest, he has also supported and shared decks with DJ Rush, Klaudia Gawlas, Flug, Gary Beck, Luigi Madonna, Joel Mull, The Advent, and many others.

Growing up in Sicily and listening to hip-hop, metal, punk, and rock, he fast-forwarded into Techno, Minimal, and House. He taught himself how to make music before studying some music notions at SAE in Milan and then moving to London, where he deepened his knowledge in sound engineering at the same institute.

Undoubtedly, an eclectic artist in a perpetual state of evolution, with indisputable skills and profound knowledge across various musical domains. His presence in the international music scene reflects a commitment to constant growth and a willingness to explore the diverse facets of his craft.
