Prof Monique Laurent (CWI Research Centre) - “Bounds for quantum graph parameters by conic and polynomial optimisation”, a podcast from the UCD/IBM Quantum Technologies Colloquium 2019.

The colloquium focused on emerging research opportunities in Quantum Technologies and was organised in partnership with IBM Research - Ireland, UCD Research, and the UCD Institute for Discovery. It took place in the Moore Auditorium in the O'Brien Centre for Science at UCD on 28th of March 2019.

Quantum technology is an emerging and highly interdisciplinary field of study that draws on expertise in Science and Engineering but is expected to be highly disruptive to a range of other disciplines. Though early in its development, quantum computing is now available on real hardware via the cloud through IBM Q. This radically new kind of computing holds open the possibility of solving some problems that are now and perhaps always will be intractable for “classical” computers.

This event will cover a broad spectrum of cutting-edge technologies ranging from quantum simulation, to quantum computing, to post-quantum cryptography, and will combine academic and industrial sessions, with contributions from leading scientists and practitioners in the field. As part of this event, IBM Research -- Ireland will introduce IBM Q, an industry-first initiative to build universal quantum computers for business and science, and UCD will outline exciting new developments in Quantum Computing hardware.
