‘Lough Foyle’ presentation formats:

'Lough Foyle' was conceived as a long-form headphone radio composition, commissioned by Resonance FM as part of their residency at Void Gallery during the 2013 UK City of Culture celebrations in Derry.

We recorded the sonic environment of various locations surrounding the Lough, using the recording process as a way of establishing a relationship with each location. Lough Foyle as a place of transition, a border.

It's been two years since the first Extinct Melodies, and for this occasion, we thought it was time for a special release.
One that has no borders, no identity, no language barriers, and no influences, just edits from the world.
We're recollected over the years a lot of praise for these series and we would like to thank each and every one of you for playing these edits out everywhere, from Boiler Rooms to living rooms, from Asia to South America, and from the weirdest to the biggest.

This special compilation of 8 edits si brought to you by producers from 20 to 50 years old, it's here to show you that good music knows no age.
A special mention goes to Alpine DJ from Bordeaux with a killer rework, as it's his first release.
Some of the tracks on here have been playing around a lot by some of the biggest names in the game and have turned a couple of heads, like Lau Tropico's "Tamma Tamma" or even RFX's "Blue 周一".
No introduction is needed for Skyrager (1/2 of Psychemagik) whose digging skills are as big as his heart and has conceived a top notch DJ tool edit.
And the last 5 to grace us with their gift are two collectives of DJs who are making their imprint on the music scene such as the duo Dharma Collective from the UK & Jitter from France.
It's a family affair, and you can hear it by the palets of musical touch and colours.

« Elle est comment votre douleur là ? Sur une échelle de 1 à 10, elle est à combien ? ». Derrière le rideau blanc d’une salle d’opération, se dresse un décor abstrait, celui d’un voyage qui prendrait sa source au coeur même d’une blessure. C’est ainsi que dans un état semi conscient, je reçois la visite du centaure Chiron. II m’indique un passage, un tout petit espace, une synapse, d’où provient un chant bien étrange… Partant d’un événement vécu et des rencontres du réel, Autopoïèse propose des chutes et des variations, une descente vers la fiction, la poésie et la mythologie.

In 2018 the film world took notice when Alfonoso Cuarón, director of Gravity, released a black and white, period film called Roma to wide acclaim. It was one of the first films to truly explore and innovate in the Atmos format, and the dense soundfield was an intense labor of love throughout.

In this episode we spoke with sound editor Javier Quesada about his intense and meticulous work in this project.
