UFO Dance was the artist and founder of  the MP3.COM label called ‘United Federation Of Dance’  The artist and label were established  around the turn of the century. After he discovered an affordable early version of Fruityloops it sparked a fresh inspiration for music, that had started back in punk bands in 1978. If UFO Dance tracks don’t quite fit in you can blame that on bands like Magazine, Echo and the Bunnymen and The Cure. Guitar based punk blended into synth based 80s grooves and eventually into EDM.

UFO Dance started producing spare loops early on in this  process and decided to give these away. This led to the founding  of Freeloops.co.uk , which also produced a range of Fruityloops training videos; before FL decided to make their own. I like to think that Freeloops UK became a model that inspired many loop companies that exist today.

UFO Dance stopped producing about 10 years ago but as retirement approaches they have found time, and the passion, to re-engage with the craft. Creating music is the drug that nobody kicks forever. Midi runs in my veins…
