Douteux Amour

segue is Jordan Sauer from Vancouver, Canada. His sound is a patchwork of textures and tones with a focus on the interplay of timbre. These sounds are created through the blending of various instruments (12-string acoustic and electric guitar, piano, violin, melodica, various percussive drums and instruments, didgeridoo, childrens toys), incidental found sounds and field recordings. Being a lover of all music, his approach to music/sound composition is constantly evolving.

Grey was the second album on the original Tokyo Droning release package. It was originally released in edition of 100, which sold out in about 2 weeks despite limited press. I've known and been an enormous fan of Jordan's work for a number of years now. Its hard to think of a quieter and more gentle artist who approaches his work with great care and attention to detail. 'Grey' has always felt like a kind of organic folk drone record, which might seem like an odd hybrid. But it works beautifully and of all the releases on all the labels over the past few years, this is the one that has stayed with me and worked no matter the mood, time or situation. Jordan still very quietly continues to produce music with no fuss whatsoever (a trait sorely lacking in the current crop of young producers I find) and my only hope is that people can discover the work of this incredibly talented artist.

Fog is now everywhere. Cold and freezing in the very early mornings, dark in the early afternoon. Autumn is gently fading away - the steps of winter are louder now. Please welcome the month of December, the last of this fantastic Autumn 2011.

Nearly 2 hours ago I asked to my FB friends to give their own images/scenes that melancholy inspires them. I was literally overwhelmed with their beautiful images and thoughts. So I decided to compose this music, to add my contribution to the discussion.

Helios - Bless This Morning Year

This is a very special version of a song which will be included in my "Late Winter Tales" EP. forthcoming on <a href="http://dewtonerecordings.com">Dewtone Recordings</a> May 15th. I rearranged the song in this version for piano and strings for some live shows I could start doing in Milan by the end of May... It is a short but moving song depicting an evening marine scene.  I thought to share it with you. I hope you'll like it.
