Damo
To achieve greatness, you have to defeat adversity, adapt – and be willing to change.
Rapper/entertainer/artist Damo has literally seen it all.  Born & raised in the DMV, he grew up streetwise and spent his youth causing all kinds of trouble; selling drugs in his high-school years and eventually being incarcerated as a juvenile for eight months after a robbery went south on him.  No matter how bad things got, the music never left his side – Damo’s been rappin’ confidently since he was fourteen & used his skills as a mental escape from all the intensity and madness surrounding him daily.
The spiral continued.  After signing with his first official label at nineteen years-old, a wild disagreement led the young emcee to try & stab the CEO of Warning Music.  Soon after, he linked up with the hardest crew in the DMV, formed a band called IZREAL, sold cocaine on the side to fund his upcoming music career, and eventually found his way into music production for the first time.  Securing a spot on artist Cuba’s mixtape SPL Vol. 1 – Damo flexed his newfound skills and co-produced the record, which also features worldwide superstar rapper Wale on the lead-single “On The Radio.”  As good as things seemed to be going on the surface, Damo was still struggling underneath just tryin’ to grind it out, pay the bills & live life – and in 2009 he was sent to prison once again for distribution, for which he’d serve five years.
During his time inside this time around though, everything clicked into place.  Realizing that everything had to change if he was going to survive & continue to be free on the outside; he was released in 2014. He focused, he studied, he got his CDL – he learned from his mistakes, got back into making music, and committed to living a trouble free life, swearing that he’d never return to the wrong side of the bars.  
And that’s how it is now to this very day.  “People Change” – just like the emcee will tell you directly on his latest single released this summer – it’s completely possible that a man with a savage past like Damo can find redemption in this world.  With all the distractions in his rearview, he can now cruise into the future and focus on being the wordsmith he was always meant to be.  Unafraid to keep it raw and real and detail his experiences so that the rest out there can learn from what he’s been through – Damo has found the place where he truly belongs behind the m-i-c, bringing heat to big beats and rhythmically inspiring the emcees of tomorrow and leading by example.  Because people really DO change – Damo HAS changed – he’s ready to make the most of every minute on the mic and has the motivation & pure skill it takes to back it all up.  He’s holding nothing back on his last chance to make his mark in music a permanent one – it’s his time and he knows it – join Damo as he breaks out for real & takes over 2018.
