"Blurred Codensa" is a digitized and funky early hours contortionist spiced up with prickly stabs from a quilt of ones and zeros. "Step Focus Dimense" continues this theme but takes it to a bouncier hip shaking space. "Codensa" is a hypnotic and building ride through meadows of precisely sliced and bent glass grass swaying in a soft black wind. "Symetriades" slows things down a little but still keeps the processed funk alive and keeps things locked in and hypnotized. "The Fringe" is a softer metalic journey through distant gossamer sheets of noise and wobbling coils of aural silver.

Lost Tribe Sound is very proud to announce their third release of 2014, Leave Me Like You Found Me, a new full length album from composer/multi-instrumentalist William Ryan Fritch.

Known primarily for his critically acclaimed work as a film composer (Independent Spirit Award winning documentary The Waiting Room, Myth of The American Sleepover etc.) and for his contemporary classical/experimental recordings as Vieo Abiungo, Fritch has furthered the focused, singular sound of his latest EP Emptied Animal and produced a remarkably cohesive LP of lucid melodies and commandingly blunt rhythms.

The inspiration and namesake for the album was Adele Romanski’s unflinching character study of former lovers unable to free themselves from the burden of their shared history. These songs, dressed in the loaded and nostalgic warmth of magnetic tape, cull sounds from the canon of classic rock, deconstructing and repurposing them into anthems of euphoric selective memory. Where the emotional residue outlasts it's derivatives.

Leave Me delivers rapturous melodic outbursts, expressive arrangements, Fritch's magnificent arsenal of acoustic instrumentation, and the familiar, comforting sounds of vintage rock music refracted through the prism of modern classical sensibilities. It is lyrical yet wordless; lush, but never soft. Deliberate, yet unbound.

Those lucky enough to get a physical copy will be treated to deluxe packaging featuring the work of renowned visual artist João Ruas, a 14 song mini-album on a download card with half an hour of brand new original music unavailable anywhere else, and a double-sided card print of original artwork from William Ryan Fritch and Jamie Mills.

There’s something to be said about having your head in the clouds,
as long as they’re the kind produced by Berlin based artist Dr.
Nojoke. For his first release under "Klangscheiben", the
doctor weaves his signature plethora of handmade sounds into a
four-track composition fittingly dubbed Clusters & Clouds.
Among the array of textural beats live ghostly reverberating vocals
and lo-fi ambiance, as in “Autistic Cloud” and “Homeless Cloud,”
the latter distilled even further under labelmate Sven Laux’s
touch. “Klorren” balances dense, undulating rhythms with a trace of
mysticism. Call it cumulotechno.

lying in bed today i thought i'd like to make a sort of shimmering sound on the modular tonight… at least as a starting point. somewhat successful, this patch was fun and had a lot of variables, although i stuck to just one part of it in the recording.

without going into patch details… it's a verbos harmonic oscillator going into a modified serge resonant EQ while one of the individual band outputs of the serge feeds back into another input giving me controllable feedback on the input fader.

a low harmonic was sampled and looped via a modcan cv record and the whole thing goes through a bit of reverb on a tc electronic m2000.

Finding the Center

"He Downright Up and Left Us" is an origin story based in the sea, using folk instrumentation, soft electronics and tape samples. This album was written over a winter by the ocean in Brewster, Massachusetts. Most of the early recording was done there as well while wrapped in blankets drinking coffee. The rest of the parts were recorded in my home studio in Boston.
