Melancholyc description of Pripiap, perfect musical imageof a big tragedy after 40

203 Years taken from the album 'The Sleeper Awakes' released on the 4th May 2015 through Village Green.

The track features a 19th Century 'Dulcitone' - A piano-like instrument using tuning forks instead of strings.  Limited numbers of them were made in Glasgow in the late 1800's.

Epic - Rehearsal Recordings - 29-03-2017

Mon grand-père Jules Ledoux est décédé le 4 avril 2017 à l'âge de 91 ans. 

Il avait accepté avec plaisir de participer au projet «Un 22 février en exil». De cette longue conversation de 3h, j'ai réalisé un montage destiné à être présenté à ses funérailles, pour sa famille et ses amis. Je n'ai eu qu'une soirée pour le réaliser. Je voulais le modifier un peu avant de le publier, mais j'ai décidé de le laisser tel quel.

L'entretien a eu lieu le 6 avril 2016, soit un an jour pour jour avant la soirée où j'ai réalisé le montage.

Il a toujours donné un coup de main aux gens qu'il aimait. Il a souvent aidé mon père à se sortir du pétrin. Il ne savait pas trop c'était quoi, de la musique contemporaine, mais il était très content de me donner un coup de main. Il était très content aussi de raconter sa vie.

J'ai fait cette musique-là pour ma famille. Ce sont les quelques accords qui me sont venus comme ça, en une seule prise. C'est si bizarre d'entendre sa voix.

Capturing midges into tiny wooden boxes.
Then connecting the boxes to copper cylinders.
Adding complex filters made of paper and cellophane.
Producing sounds with that... the sweet melody of hungry midges.
