VA: Psybient [2021]

Ultimae proudly presents "Gneiss", a first solo EP on the label for Danish composer Tore Kofod Hyldahl aka Erot after his participation on Martin Nonstatic's "Granite Remixes" and releases on labels such as Iboga Records, Altar and Fallen Metropolis.

The emotive and abstract musical tale invites the listener to escape perception, understanding and apprehend the vast of music, of nature, time and space. Grounded yet floating freely, the chiselled rhythms and the evanescent pads create the cradle of contrasts in which one can let himself be lulled and carried away on a deep and delicate journey. Erot welcomes aboard space ambient and downtempo initiates Henrik Rolsted Laugesen and Vincent Villuis, respectively known as Lauge and AES Dana to fuel the experience with extra cinematic atmospheres and beats.

As a creative observer, the French artist instantiates our endeavour to establish stillness, he steers the tale with a wide palette of sensitive chords, melting distant rumbles into bittersweet melodies and diaphanous pads thus leading the listener to a state of introspection and intimate isolationism. 

AES Dana's 9th album "(a) period. " stands as an elegy for unimaginable loss, and, as the composer says, "any resemblance with your personal experience is no coincidence".

[ Ephemeris ] is a deep sonic ground swell, an album of contrasts, 10 tracks structured upon subterranean bass lines, transversal and luminous pads, crisp, crunchy beats. A mesmerizing ensemble of fresh atmospheres and intense, forward driving melodies. 

The inspiration for the album title comes from the artists Vincent Villuis and Magnus Birgersson's collaboration process, determined by the patterns of encounter in time and space, the alignment of creative moods and coordination of life's innate forces.

Mystic Sound Records is happy to present a new full-length album of the talented Russian producer Nikita ’Chronos’ Klimenko – “Friendology vol.1”. Friendology vol.1 – is a first part in a trilogy of collaborations with Nikita’s friends around the world during the last few years. Well-known names and new talents, which Nick has met on his way while travelling, are bringing new dimension of musicality and emotionality in Chronos sound.

Starting from shoe gaze rock through IDM elements & different ethnic cultures, to brave experiments with beatbox & classic music combined with strong downtempo spirit. Then, going through modern styles like trap and 4/4 chillgressive to trance vibes and evolving with space ambient as a great story ending. Approximately ten styles of music are combined here with sounds of a cello, a violin, a guitar, a bass, and vocals mixed with analog & digital synth algorithms.

Derived from the Latin “Ultimae Terrae,” meaning “the furthest places,” the name Ultimae reflects a profound theme of exploration. This concept is at the heart of Ultimae Records, an ambient music record label and publisher dedicated to transporting listeners to the outer edges of experience through sound and offering a space for introspection and discovery within the vastness of the mind and beyond.

In 1999, Vincent Villuis and Sandrine Gryson, also known as AES Dana and Mahiane, united over a shared passion for the immersive world of electronic music. This collaboration led to the birth of the label. Initially envisioned as a musical portal, Ultimae’s mission was to explore and disseminate the diverse expressions of Ambient music far and wide through the production of records and the establishment of an online shop.

Over the years, Ultimae has expanded beyond its original scope, evolving into a multifaceted company with sound design, post-production, and mastering studios based in Lyon, France, along with professional services in publishing, music licensing, and synchronization.
