It was early 2013 when inner landscapes finally got
audible. Martin van Rossum aka Martin Nonstatic
moved to Cologne while Jens from Essen sent a
pleasant release offer. Several EPs, remix and
packaging projects got finished and the favorite
synthesizer was back on duty again, leading to the
first track „Inner Landscapes“ which in turn also
provided the album's title.
Martin took 14 months scrutinizing his workflow
involving both software and hardware to invent fresh
track concepts for his album. Constantly inspired by
the Rhenish environment with all of its movements
and encounters the album concentrated on those
„inner landscapes“. Playful and liberated he
combined field recordings with soundscapes, voices
and nature sounds into deep sequence paths.
Wave noises and Indonesian voices trickle onto the
album’s opening track „Behind The Window“ and the
dub oriented „Gilli Nangu“ while a fine dusty
crackle meets deep dub chords and sonic ideas
salvaged from earlier live sessions and synthesizer
recordings throughout the album, supported by
electro-ambient and minimal beat structures and
alternating rhythmic patterns, clearly showcasing
Martin’s extensive experience of both analyzing and
producing ambient and dub techno sounds.
Embedded between its otherworldly opening and a
dreamy outro are 11 aural landscapes forming a 74
minute tour-de-force, and after its long production
phase the emotional waveforms and clear ideas of
Martin Nonstatic’s „Inner Landscapes“ have finally
found their place and are ready to be heard on the
outside.

A few travels Sweden to France and vice-versa; constant bandwidth; and duo H.U.V.A. Network composed an album of immersive tunes infused with oneiric trip-hop, ambient geometries and morning trance.

[ Ephemeris ] is a deep sonic ground swell, an album of contrasts, 10 tracks structured upon subterranean bass lines, transversal and luminous pads, crisp, crunchy beats. A mesmerizing ensemble of fresh atmospheres and intense, forward driving melodies.

The inspiration for the album title comes from the artists Vincent Villuis and Magnus Birgersson's collaboration process, determined by the patterns of encounter in time and space, the alignment of creative moods and coordination of life's innate forces.

Vincent Villuis lifts the veil on a vibrant album filled with a fragile melancholy and yet refreshing intensity; as always altering and fusing light and darkness while playing with the idea of close and distant environmental resonances. 

His music has taken a new depth, enriched by his encounter with German composer Christoph Berg and his experience as an "artiste en residence" at Les Dominicains de Haute Alsace, an ancient cloister revamped into a music hall where the artist ambled within the walls to record echoes and atmospheres and infused them in his compositions. 

All along [ Perimeters ] atmospheric electronica flirts with neo-classical space music, warm downtempo grooves and basslines roll upon hypnotic pads, fragmented drums imprint beats into still and ecstatic layers of field recordings and subtly AES Dana throws in pushy and enthusiastic progressive trance bringing a driving force to the musical journey.

Derived from the Latin “Ultimae Terrae,” meaning “the furthest places,” the name Ultimae reflects a profound theme of exploration. This concept is at the heart of Ultimae Records, an ambient music record label and publisher dedicated to transporting listeners to the outer edges of experience through sound and offering a space for introspection and discovery within the vastness of the mind and beyond.

In 1999, Vincent Villuis and Sandrine Gryson, also known as AES Dana and Mahiane, united over a shared passion for the immersive world of electronic music. This collaboration led to the birth of the label. Initially envisioned as a musical portal, Ultimae’s mission was to explore and disseminate the diverse expressions of Ambient music far and wide through the production of records and the establishment of an online shop.

Over the years, Ultimae has expanded beyond its original scope, evolving into a multifaceted company with sound design, post-production, and mastering studios based in Lyon, France, along with professional services in publishing, music licensing, and synchronization.
