"At the time when this track came together, myself and my girlfriend were walking through Stokes Croft in Bristol together one weekday evening around 9pm. It was a dark, winter evening and it was raining heavily. We noticed a young boy aged about 9 looking somewhat out of place, dressed in his school uniform, drenched from head to toe, looking very lost. After noticing him walking around the area for a second time, we decided to ask if he was ok. When we spoke to him, we quickly realised he was not ok. The boy had run away from home in London and taken a train to Bristol. A place he'd never been before. He also had no mobile phone, no address of his parents in London, no phone numbers of family or friends we could call to help him and no idea what he was doing. It was a pretty dark time for this kid. After considering the options, we called the police and explained the situation, the police took an hour to finally arrive and confirm that the boy had been reported missing from London earlier that day. The boy got in the police car and they drove away. This song has a dark, atmospheric vibe and reminds me of that cold rainy night we looked after the kid that run away. His name was Marcelo."

Sudbeat 046 features Australian producer Steve May who's been making music and DJ-ing for many years, gaining DJ support on his productions from Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox and Hernan Cattaneo (who used Open Day on his Renaissance Masters Mix).
The track Open Day itself is a punchy solid gem, melodic yet moody in its melancholic vibe, that meanders and builds to a tinkly keyed smile inducing moment and has been a staple of Mr Cattaneo's sets for ages, so seemed so right to release this!
On remix duties its to Argentina and Criss Deeper who has released music on 3rd Avenue and Stripped and has received radio pays from Hernan Cattaneo.
Criss' remix is a darker hypnotic phat grooved wonder that chugs along while the wondrous melodics add light.
Also including is a very cool downtempo version from Steve May that oozes warmth and gives instant visions of beaches in Ibiza...

Albedo is a concept compilation where all tracks contribute to a single unified story. On his first official mix release on Ultimae Records, Nova has selected a kaleidoscopic array of new panoramic tunes with a strong cinematic feeling and a common fil rouge that tells a story of light beams falling on Earth, reaching different corners of the planet, from natural lonely environments of forests, empty shores and arctic landscapes to more busy urban cyberspaces ending in an ethereal, tribal yet meditative sunset. 

Included in the compilation are established in-house artists such as AES Dana, Solar Fields, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Hol Baumann and Sync24 alongside other well known and respected projects within the international ambient music realms : Ishq, Ochi Brothers, Vir Unis and Antonio Testa. Also included is a very interesting newcomer, Between Interval and a track by Nova himself with the artistic supervision of label manager and producer Vincent Villuis (AES Dana).

A Path Untold is the ever-expanding musical vision that producer Daniel Merrill (previously of Aligning Minds) has been slowly but steadily building for years, carefully constructing a sound that you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else. His alchemical style has evolved through observing, collecting and fusing together a variety of diverse elements from genres such as future garage, slow/deep house, downtempo/ambient, and idm. Additionally, through experiences with Peruvian medicine work and group-based healing ceremonies, a loving fascination with that culture has also weaved its way into his compositions. With the utmost honor and respect paid to these long-standing traditions and sounds, he feels it is in this fusion of mediums there lies an incredible opportunity to unify cultural realms. By bringing qualities of sacred healing experiences to the dancefloor and utilizing the limitless palette of modern electronic music production, the boundaries between worlds are blurred, using music to explore the balance between dualistic elements like illumination/darkness, past/future, tradition/innovation, euphoria/melancholy, natural/artificial, and individual/collective, all as an expression of unity and holistic oneness. Think mystical melodic story-telling through the use of explorative texture and harmonic bass presence, calling into existence the sound of alternate realms of beauty, intrigue and wonder.

The newest release from A Path Untold, ‘Wander to Serve’, is a full-length offering of 9 tracks that envelops the listener in a sonic world carefully constructed through a powerful combination of uniquely varied genre elements.

The album draws upon a personal account of transformation and transmutation, each track a form of therapy and self-expression shaped around the need to transmute pain and struggle into beauty and triumph. Over the course of Daniel’s 17-year journey as a music producer, his relentless exploration through the genre spectrum has allowed him to retain an objectivity necessary for the fusion of eclectic stylistic influences. His alchemical style has evolved over the years through observing, collecting and fusing together a variety of inspirations, bringing together elements from future garage, slow house, downtempo/ambient, world music and idm.

‘Wander to Serve’ is a tribute to the notion that we are here collectively to be of service to one another - to help liberate each other, awaken, and create. That “To fully be of service, you must allow your heart to truly wander” through the infinite spectrum of experience in all of its dualistic nature, including facing fears, sorrows and challenges along the path of keeping your heart fully open in order to give and receive, in cyclical oscillation. This process manifests itself as a transmutation of life events, the concept of turning poison into medicine, darkness into light.

Derived from the Latin “Ultimae Terrae,” meaning “the furthest places,” the name Ultimae reflects a profound theme of exploration. This concept is at the heart of Ultimae Records, an ambient music record label and publisher dedicated to transporting listeners to the outer edges of experience through sound and offering a space for introspection and discovery within the vastness of the mind and beyond.

In 1999, Vincent Villuis and Sandrine Gryson, also known as AES Dana and Mahiane, united over a shared passion for the immersive world of electronic music. This collaboration led to the birth of the label. Initially envisioned as a musical portal, Ultimae’s mission was to explore and disseminate the diverse expressions of Ambient music far and wide through the production of records and the establishment of an online shop.

Over the years, Ultimae has expanded beyond its original scope, evolving into a multifaceted company with sound design, post-production, and mastering studios based in Lyon, France, along with professional services in publishing, music licensing, and synchronization.
