From the passionate lands of France, Arnaud Galoppe, known as Focal and Kinosura, has hand-mixed an emotional labyrinth of dark techno and melancholy ambience in Ultimae’s latest compilation.
Polarity is a double-sided conglomerate of electronic expressions from all over the world, spanning across atmospheric soundworlds of intimate drone and deep, industrial progressions. 
This collection of heartwarming soundscapes and foot-stomping house beats is smoother than butter, a series of 26 top-notch tracks that paint an interesting, auditory adventure. Although the album has a minimalistic approach, it offers a surprisingly detailed production. Each track is layered with expert craftsmanship and hypnotic melodies laced against diverse, psychedelic noise echoing in the distance.

Derived from the Latin “Ultimae Terrae,” meaning “the furthest places,” the name Ultimae reflects a profound theme of exploration. This concept is at the heart of Ultimae Records, an ambient music record label and publisher dedicated to transporting listeners to the outer edges of experience through sound and offering a space for introspection and discovery within the vastness of the mind and beyond.

In 1999, Vincent Villuis and Sandrine Gryson, also known as AES Dana and Mahiane, united over a shared passion for the immersive world of electronic music. This collaboration led to the birth of the label. Initially envisioned as a musical portal, Ultimae’s mission was to explore and disseminate the diverse expressions of Ambient music far and wide through the production of records and the establishment of an online shop.

Over the years, Ultimae has expanded beyond its original scope, evolving into a multifaceted company with sound design, post-production, and mastering studios based in Lyon, France, along with professional services in publishing, music licensing, and synchronization.

Adam ‘Da Believa’ is a Kootenay, BC based DJ who has been exploring the depths of the global sound system music culture over the past 6 years. Recently having been taken on apart of Sub Chakra, one of Calgary's leading promotions, he participates in harnessing the potential of connection through sound system music, hosting local events involving both locals and international headliners. His recent residency further involves him in becoming a conduit for the music culture.



 A performance from Da Believa are influenced by the more archaic, ancient, eastern and worldly sounds, focused on a deep-end, low-frequency, bass driven dubstep and half-time drum & bass palette. Molding together elements of depth and energy tailored to deliver a conscious message, taking the listener on a spiritual journey deep into the blend of music. The combined influences of both organic, natural sounds, as well as those sounds representing the forward motion of music through electronic representation. Drawing creativity from the likes of Kalya Scintilla’s spiritually activated music, to the deep, bass driven sounds of Biome, Da Believa entails a sound that transcends multiple tempos and emotions. Prior to embarking on an excursion into bass music, Adam Da Believa has gathered inspiration from artists like The Roots, Michael Franti, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley and the legendary dub sounds of King Tubby. The underlying root in a performance from Da Believa remains one that will fortify a sense of love. While stimulating movement and stirring up a conscious connection to the frequencies.

Bassiste post-punk dès la fin des années 80, Ced fait partie du mouvement Goth à Grenoble, Alpes françaises, et s’ouvre à la culture techno en 93 lors de la mythique « Transeruption ». Il pose ses premiers vinyles en soirées à partir de l'été 98. Sa passion le mène à fonder le collectif   « Lakazba », à devenir résident du célèbre club lyonnais  « Le Monde à L’Envers » et à être invité à l’international (Suisse, Autriche, Espagne, Italie...)
Désireux d’élargir constamment ses horizons musicaux, ses sets oscillent entre Melodic Techno, Electro, Techno, Breaks, le tout nimbé d’Acid et toujours dans l’esprit Progressive.
Il co-fonde le collectif « Brainbow » en 2022.

As a post-punk bassist since the end of the 80’s, Ced is part of the Goth movement in Grenoble, French Alps, then opens up to techno culture in 93 during the mythical «Transeruption». 
He put his first vinyls during events from 98. His passion led him to found the «Lakazba» collective, to become resident for the famous Lyon club «Le Monde à L'Envers» and to be invited internationally (Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Italy...)
Eager to constantly expand his musical horizons, his sets oscillate in between Prog, Melodic Techno, Electro, Breaks, haloed of Acid and always in the progressive spirit.
He co-founds the collective «Brainbow» in 2022.
