Ultimae label founder Vincent Villuis aka AES Dana returns to one of his favourite emotional fields with (a) Period. and explores these times of forlornness and oblivion in a Cinematic Ambient 10 chapter story. 

As a creative observer, the French artist instantiates our endeavour to establish stillness, he steers the tale with a wide palette of sensitive chords, melting distant rumbles into bittersweet melodies and diaphanous pads thus leading the listener to a state of introspection and intimate isolationism. 

AES Dana's 9th album "(a) period. " stands as an elegy for unimaginable loss, and, as the composer says, "any resemblance with your personal experience is no coincidence".

A cornucopia of evanescent pads and elaborate rhythms with a distinctive downtempo vibe; a daedal story taking one on a magnetic peregrination through dense and contrasted sonic geographies, picturing the notion of temporality and space.

His talented ways to achieving balance, blending and melding to bring together unison in multiple songs are not afraid to also bring a dance floor on fire with his legendary 4/4 beats.


Here is Charles latest work on Altar Records titled “Atmosphere”. It is a beautiful album that seamlessly flows from one track to the next, with movement like a gentle organic spiral.


This new album is musically weaved together of four previously unreleased tunes, along with some of the best recent compilations.


For an utmost musical experience, all of the tracks have been remixed and re-mastered in 24 bit. In addition, the album cover art perfectly portrays Asura’s elegant and neat melodies.

But there are people who were there. People for whom space is not a dream but a goal. And it’s not relevant if they go there themselves or prepare the flight for someone else.
April 12 is their day.
The day when the stars become a little bit closer to us.
This album is dedicated to such people.

Microcosmos Records prepared a special present for the Cosmonautics Day, which will be very interesting for all fans of high quality chillout music — mini release of Astronaut Ape called “A Little Closer”. Oleg, author of this EP, graduated the Mozhaisky Military Space Academy, and in honour of the first human's flight to space he decided to release some truly cosmic tunes.

The nine tracks on "9980" compose a serene ballad in atmospheric realms where finely chiseled rhythms and fluid melodies are sustained by discreet downtempo grooves and deep drones. 
Koizumi’s widely spread, otherworldly, organic, sustained wizardry, compliments Scheffer’s spiraling, liquid, delicate yet sumptuous acid ambient type architecture. This combination creates a kinetic and spacious tapestry that stimulates the mind and soul. A pure delight for vast soundscapes audiophiles.

This second edition released with a brand new artwork will be available in CD and all digital formats on June 28th 2018 and a few weeks later as a magnificent Double LP.

Derived from the Latin “Ultimae Terrae,” meaning “the furthest places,” the name Ultimae reflects a profound theme of exploration. This concept is at the heart of Ultimae Records, an ambient music record label and publisher dedicated to transporting listeners to the outer edges of experience through sound and offering a space for introspection and discovery within the vastness of the mind and beyond.

In 1999, Vincent Villuis and Sandrine Gryson, also known as AES Dana and Mahiane, united over a shared passion for the immersive world of electronic music. This collaboration led to the birth of the label. Initially envisioned as a musical portal, Ultimae’s mission was to explore and disseminate the diverse expressions of Ambient music far and wide through the production of records and the establishment of an online shop.

Over the years, Ultimae has expanded beyond its original scope, evolving into a multifaceted company with sound design, post-production, and mastering studios based in Lyon, France, along with professional services in publishing, music licensing, and synchronization.
