As our first collaboration (Cloudhopping) turned out wonderful, it's time for a second collaboration with Timaeus!  This time we decided to go a little darker, into the creepy world of Plants vs. Zombies.  We wanted a lot of variation in styles, moods and sounds throughout the song, and it was easy to fill up the remix with source due to the complex melodies of the tunes in the OST. Timaeus's dubstep breakdown with the "bungee scream" gives me chills every time I hear it. Thanks to Laura Shigihara for writing such a fun soundtrack for a great game.  I still can't believe no one has remixed this game yet! djp, we hope you are happy that someone finally accepted your challenge of doing a remix for Plants vs. Zombies! About time, eh?

Timaeus's Comments:
This was by far the most complicated remix I've ever worked on with anyone, and I've never given so much attention to detail to one remix before. There ended up to be a whole bunch of drum samples, automations, and unique sound patches including a few of my own. If I had to pick a favorite sound, it would probably be that 12-string sitar patch Howard Scarr made for Zebra. This remix drew a little inspiration from zircon, Sole Signal, and Ben Briggs. Now, since this might actually be the first Plants vs. Zombies remix ever shared with OC ReMix, I figured it would be nice to include a quick little source breakdown (not NEARLY as precise as the last one):

Hey, all. Given all that's happened over the last little bit, I think it's about time I give an update on the current plans.

So, in case you haven't seen, Juniper and Peter have left the community for good. Understandably so. I won't point fingers, but you know who you are. Green has also left the backroom, but will be sticking around in the server as a member of the audience. Either way, we wish all of them well.

As for our future plans?

We're not cancelling. 

I've poured too many hours into this project, and people have put in too much work into this for us to just let it all go with a whisper. I'm not a fan of leaving things behind, and I promised people that I would finish this project. I promised myself, and I promised the love of my life, that I would finish this.

I'm not one to break promises.

We'll be a little bit longer, since we need a little time to regroup and reorganize, as well as give those affected but still with us time to recuperate. I'd hate to push people back into the fray too soon. That would be negligent on my part, and I care too much about the people that have helped us along the way to just let things fester without letting them heal.

As such, I can't guarantee an official start date just yet. That said, we'll be back soon. Thank you so much for your patience.

Additionally, if you're interested in helping us out, I'd like to invite you to join the Ultimus server as I open up backroom applications for another run. We desperately need help, since two of our most active musicians and our main artist have left the project. I'll keep you all updated on what goes down.
