Here's another of my late night whiskey and recording parties. This one was from a good while back. Alec Stanley and I came home from a gig and decided to record some Fleet Foxes. We both love the song Blue Ridge Mountains off of their eponymous debut album. Plus, their arrangement is awesome with the Double Drop D tuning they use. I had just learned how to play mandolin pretty well, so we wrote out an arrangement for this song and recorded it all night while drinking absurd amounts of Lord Calvert. Alec and I recorded all of the instruments in my bedroom plugging straight into my iMac and Garage Band. All of the vocals and acoustic instruments (including the percussion) were recorded through an MXL Genesis Tube Condenser Microphone. I really enjoy this cover, and I hope you do too. Again, I do not claim any rights to the music or lyrics of this song, but this is my artistic interpretation of the song. Bon Apetit!
