Dj RED Soundscape 
for Kuboraum site-specific multimedia installation at Khidi Contemporary Art Space _ 19.04.2019

In the monumental setting of KHIDI's Contemporary Art Space located in the concrete void of the Vakhusti Bagrationi Bridge originating from the Soviet Era, Kuboraum set up a site-specific multimedia installation using sound, video-projections, eye-couture masks, new creations, archive pieces, layered large-scale prints on various materials, lights, one DJ, dancing people.

This recorded soundscape curated by DJ RED during the Experience is an elemental modul in the excursus on the relation between the mask and the concept of identity, the dance floor as an interactive affirmation of hybridization and liquid identity.
The concept of identity is the field of experimentation where the whole Kuboraum project emphasizes on the anxiety that each one of us has related to the contrast between presentation and self-representation.
Kuboraum uses the game of mask as a hypothetical solution to this anxiety.
The mask as our liquid architecture, our light box and our dark box, a liquid architecture where we experience ourselves and all our identities in between the city-scapes.
A box full of light like a dance floor is the representation of an emotional architecture that arises from the constitution of a group entity, a liquid identity formed by multiple individuals and multiple identities. Through our liquid box, our liquid architecture we experience our identities, through the dance floor, a neo-contemporary oracle for thoughts about ourselves, we meet, we exchange, we dance and we know ourselves through differences with each other. The dance floor is a political entity, it is cohabitation, it is the liberation of differences, it is enjoying these differences, without annulling them.
The idea that we are all the same is terrible, each of us is multiple and different, we must learn to enjoy these differences, through the other we must learn to know ourselves. The dance floor is a political entity that educates us to enjoy these differences by celebrating them in the ecstatic ritual of dance.

Born and raised in Italy, Dj Red is a key figure of the Roman techno scene. Resident of the iconic Goa Club and its notorious party Ultrabeat, her contribution has been essential to the development of Rome’s club culture through her eccentric and multifaceted personality.
From Berghain, Tresor to Awakenings and Exit Festival, she never fails to deeply connect with her audience. The manic perfection in selecting every single record and the commitment of her daily research makes it impossible not to be dragged by the intense, visionary techno sets.

DJ Red is a shimmering example of techno’s past, present and future -- a voice that continues to evolve alongside the genre she so proudly represents; time after time with each impressive performance.

Dj Red has been one of Kuboraum’s favourite artist since our first steps on the dance floor. She is the perfect artist to produce an unforgettable set for such an important occasion to represent Kuboraum’s identity and project.

Second episode of our podcast series is out. For EXTEND PODCAST 002 we are trilled to share the contribution of Berlin native electronic musician Lars Hemmerling. Live performer, dj and experienced analog producer, also known for his collaborative project along with Dasha Rush as LADA.

He has been active since the early '90s rave and he had the pleasure to appear on the best festival line up and clubs around the globe. He is currently signed and release tracks on Fullpanda, Dock Schallplatten and End Of Perception.

Lars is a traditional proponent of the hypnotic stylings of techno, his sets like his productions are charachterized of dark drone/ambient atmospheres, thick industrial noises blending over accurate synths excursions.
