Hell Yeah is proud to present the return of Jazz N Palms with a superb new project following the success of his Ses Rodes album. 'Milano' comes on November 25th as a 7" with radio and instrumental versions, and a digital release with Jazz N Palms very own new disco versions. It also has an original video and expressive artwork by Parisian Studio Nokko.

Jazz N Palms is a jazz-inspired project from Italian DJ and producer Riccio. He started this project after moving to Ibiza and falling under the spell of its ancestral side, its sweet and slow pace of life and the natural rhythms of the beauty in the north of the island. In summer, he served up his fantastic Ses Rodes double album which was dedicated to the original way of life that had remained almost unchanged till the early 80s party explosion. It saw him work with the most talented local musicians and was mixed together with island resident Ben Westbeech. Jazz N Palms is now a regular guest DJ at The Standard and Pikes and has put out a series of much-loved promotional edits on vinyl and cassette over the last three years.

This new track came about after Riccio heard Piera Martell's 1978 soul-jazz track 'Exotica' in a mix by Phil Mison. The idea was reimagine the song with new lyrics and set in Milan, in the early days when the town was invaded by unusual and exotic palm trees in Piazza Duomo. The song tells the story of a country teenager who is unsure about heading to a big new city after receiving an invitation. The story will retrieve familiar emotions for many of us who have faced similarly important decisions in our life, but this time married to an escapist groove.

For this release, the original 'Exotica' has been fully replayed by contemporary musicians from the multi-genre Italian ensemble 291out, with whom Riccio has worked in the past. It has new lyrics sung in Italian by fellow 291out collaborator Giovanna Lubjan after permission was given by original composer Salvo Ingrassia.

'Milano' is a luxurious soul-jazz fusion. It has exotic guitar lines and gently persuasive rhythms topped by the soaring vocal from Lubjan. A steamy sax helps the temperature rise as the track unfolds and traps you under its gorgeous spell. It comes as an exquisite extended mix, radio edit and instrumental.

Jazz N Palms also reworks the song for the dance floor. His disco version is six minutes of funky bass work and wiggling synths. Lush chords bring the heat as the vocal takes on a more seductive quality and you glide along with the groove.

This is a timeless package of blissed-out brilliance from Jazz N Palms.

Scopic Records - a new UK label which aims to "bring newcomers and artists with backgrounds, regardless of their background or gender" - launches with a single by its founder New Digital Fidelity in collaboration with singer Monet. We get three nicely different mixes of 'Getting Colder' in all. The A-side is taken up by the club mix, a classic New York deep house groove with chunky pianos chords and Monet's confident vocal performance. The flip begins with the original, a slower version but still effortlessly groovy, bringing its soul, jazz, and R&B influences to the fore. US techno's man of the moment Byron the Aquarius completes the set by turning the track inside out with shuffling hats, snapping machinefunk snares and a bubbling bass, making it even more impressive by exposing its moving parts and giving them a neat polish.

A1.New Digital Fidelity-Gettin Colder feat Monet (Club Mix)

Growing up with and influenced by the sounds of TR-909 or TR-808 which surrounds you, then you would recognize Adham Zahran's signature sound and his unique skills when he plays with rhythms and catchy melodies, especially on this 'Grain Galaxy'. He also brings us tracks such as 'Ocean Falls' and 'Synth Funk Suit 1' full of pleasant dreamy vibrations that would sound amazing at your local venue, as well as if you just let the decks play at home for your own listening session. Head of Umanuto Records Javas remixed the original 'Grain Galaxy' as a classic house leg warmer to get it moving on the dance floor.
