JAKE ROBERTZ

Jake Robertz is a veteran music producer and DJ from Edmonton, Canada. Over the last 10 years, he’s released music and remixes on multiple international labels including RAM Records, High Tea & many, many more. Jake is an alumni at some of Western Canada’s biggest festivals including Bass Coast and Wicked Woods. He has created a name for himself with DJ sets composed of 100% original music, created in Ableton. 

Jake has explored the techniques of producing a wide variety of genres and styles, and developed methods to help you find, create, or refine your specific musical vision. He has the practical experience and in-depth knowledge to give you a clear understanding of the production process at any level. Alongside his experience in composition and mixing, Jake also offers production classes, Mastering services and vocal recording at NVMA studio.

KEEKZ

Kiana, aka keekz, started her journey in 2018 by taking electronic music production classes at NVMA Studio in Edmonton, Alberta. Fast forward a few years and you can find keekz utilizing that knowledge of rhythms and patterns to showcase the perfect balance of intricate drums, booty-shaking bass, original productions (team Ableton), & powerful female influences during one of her diverse sets.

When she’s not making people dance, keekz is curating events with the legendary Umbral Sound System in Edmonton - a new collective she has co-founded with a few talented individuals that saw the need for inclusive & community-focused parties (featuring some big-ass, custom speakers).

"Our scene will always need mad scientists like Symetrex, one of those guys who spends countless hours digging for new and better sounds. These efforts consistently yield a unique amalgamation of tribal rhythms, lush atmospheres, and constant low-end pressure. 

Like any good scientist, Symetrex is equally aware of the intricacies of the musical process and the necessity to disregard them as boundaries. Following these guidelines (or lack thereof) for more than nineteen years landed him a dj residency at Threshold and Dubbage, two of the longest running jungle and dubstep shows in Connecticut. There, the crowd's response pushed him to delve deeper into crafting his own tracks and to further sharpen his skills as a dj. In 2017, he pulled up his roots and headed down to North Carolina, where he later linked up with Down Deep Productions, all the while still pushing those unique sounds.

As a artist's work is never done, these days you'll find Symetrex still digging, still experimenting, and still searching for progressive combinations of dubstep, drum and bass, trap, garage and god knows what else to devise a rare and entrancing sonic journey."
