Lovely song, vocal  harmonies and fine musicianship!

Ah, what a bittersweet, beautiful thing - so rich a song from so sparse a backing instrument, it is so powerful, moreso by the grace of those harmonies.

This is a beautiful song and your voices work so well together. 

Sweet M/F harmony over basic instrumentation - just guitar, banjo, & piano, I think?  Well written too, classic folk style.

A tune from the 2016 sessions , I hadn't listened to this track in a while-after a listen I thought I would post it today. This tune was influenced by the band Diamond Head , a band who have inspired many other great bands. The middle section was influenced by Rush , a band that I have loved since I was a young dude & of course Led Zep have a huge influence on so many facets of my own writing. I hope y'all dig the vibe folks.

The new album BACK TO LAND: out now 🔮

Umbrellabirds is Sam Blickhan, Lewis Daly, and Alex Hunt. The band began as a long-distance recording project when Sam Blickhan and Lewis Daly began exchanging demos in 2013. Alex Hunt heard these sparsely beautiful demos and initially signed up to produce, but was soon recruited as a full band member. The intricate, autumnal debut album was recorded in 2014-16, the product of many late nights and countless miles of travel. Oda Almås played strings on the self-titled debut. Shortly thereafter, the band began work on their second album—Closing Ceremony (2020)—featuring a bigger sound and a wider collective of musicians including Shyam Prasad on drums, Will Harvey on strings, and Cath Day on clarinet. Their third album—BACK TO LAND—was released in November 2025, further developing their signature indie-folk sound. Umbrellabirds have been played on BBC 6 Music by DJ Tom Robinson and featured on the BBC Introducing Mixtape.
