SAM WOLFE, UMEK - Enter The Rave (Radio Edit)

What’s 2 m tall, lives Behind the Iron Curtain, has 1605 reasons to run an awesome label, and flies? Meet UMEK, a techno legend from Slovenia.

UMEK is personally responsible for kickstarting the electronic music scene in his home country by first organizing illegal raves and then becoming one of Slovenia’s most wanted export products and the number one music ambassador to the whole world.

And he does fly! Around 100 times per year, visiting almost every continent each year. His gig diary ranges from dark underground clubs in Berlin to massive techno stages at the world’s most renowned festivals. 

Apart from making his name in the DJ booth, he’s also a tireless producer. He mostly releases on his own imprint 1605, and most of his tracks end up on the very top of Beatport’s charts. After more than 25 years as a professional musician, he decided to use his experience and skills in the entrepreneurial world. Together with his managers, he founded a music-tech startup Viberate (www.viberate.com), where they are building the world’s greatest music platform.

"Der Begriff Bohème oder Boheme bezeichnet eine Subkultur intellektueller Randgruppen mit vorwiegend schriftstellerischer, bildkünstlerischer und musikalischer Aktivität oder Ambition, die sich gegenüber bürgerlichen Einstellungen und Verhaltensweisen abgrenzt. Die Bohème ist dabei weniger eine ästhetisch-kritische, als eine sozialgeschichtliche Kategorie.
Diese Lebensart ist vor allem in Künstler­kreisen, wie zum Beispiel bei Malern, Dichtern und Literaten, aber auch bei Studenten verbreitet. Bürgerliche Töchter und Söhne verweigerten sich oft den Normen und Gepflogenheiten ihres Elternhauses und ihrer Klasse und lebten das Leben eines Bohémiens, das häufig als authentischer, eigenständiger, ursprünglicher und weniger entfremdet erlebt wurde.
Die Motive und Hintergründe für einen solchen Lebensstil sind vielfältig. Der Wunsch, die bürgerlichen Werte und Normen, die als einschränkend erlebt werden, zu überwinden, oder der Wunsch nach Identitäts­findung, Selbstverwirklichung und kreativer Freiheit können ebenso eine Rolle spielen wie ein exzentrisches Wesen, jugendliche Auflehnung gegen die Elterngeneration, Entfremdungs­erfahrungen und Gesellschafts- oder Kulturkritik – und natürlich die leidenschaftliche Hingabe an die Kunst, selbst wenn sie nicht zum Broterwerb reicht."

Tim Kollberg is a german Techno Producer, born 1994 in Düsseldorf. Since 2010 he finds his passion for electronic music. One dance in a club with his friends, he develops suddenly his dream to play as a dj in clubs and stages in his hometown and in abroad. He was so fascinated by dancing peoples, the vibes and the atmosphere. During this time, he wants to learn how to be a DJ and builds step up his first dj skills in his homestudio until he could he testing it in little clubs until he notices some successes.

He builds up with his first music community, called Nightlight Sessions, and party series "Secret Day Open Air" his cornerstone to contact intensive with local djs and dj headliners like T78 (Autotune Records), Metodi Hristov (Set About), DirtySoxXx (Funk´n Deep Records) and many more to be closer at his dream to involve as a great dj/producer in the music scene. 

Many Parties in Düsseldorf, Francfurt and Hamburg follows. Always with one target to pair people up to one place with one passion „electronic music. 

Slowly he becames a name with past years and dedicated his passion to play/produce tracks on festival, parties and labels.
