Your grace is Voodoo
Sacred palms drenched in virgin oils 
Pricking holes for ecstasy reaping spoils 
Blind mice can see your blank empathy

As all salute the rhythm of a silent heart-throb 
The army is at arm's length
Casualties entrench the gap 

The green matter of trees laughter flows 
As the wind blows your hair 
With wondering eyes sowed down with Teflon 
Your cotton smile lays plastered in the soil 

Pressing silently in  the midst of shadows dancing on the horizon 
To the arrangements of snarling witches

Voodoo

uMuti, an Afro-prog band based in Pretoria, is a collective effort of two musicians with rich character of sound. Founded by Bhekumuzi Gwala(Guitar, Vocals) in 2015 and later joined by Ofentse Nyamane(Guitar, Bass, Percussions), and expanding its musical repertoire. uMuti's sound encapsulates various African music styles and blends it with contemporary music elements to create something dynamic and captivating.
Drawing influences from Latin guitar and African rhythms and melodies, as well as advances in audio engineering, uMuti provides a remedy for the music industry and music listeners alike by creating and experimenting   with new soundscapes and structures to music making, beginning a movement toward a more natural and emotive approach to music.
