uMuti, an Afro-prog band based in Pretoria, is a collective effort of two musicians with rich character of sound. Founded by Bhekumuzi Gwala(Guitar, Vocals) in 2015 and later joined by Ofentse Nyamane(Guitar, Bass, Percussions), and expanding its musical repertoire. uMuti's sound encapsulates various African music styles and blends it with contemporary music elements to create something dynamic and captivating.
Drawing influences from Latin guitar and African rhythms and melodies, as well as advances in audio engineering, uMuti provides a remedy for the music industry and music listeners alike by creating and experimenting   with new soundscapes and structures to music making, beginning a movement toward a more natural and emotive approach to music.
