Kicking off Unbeyond Anthologies’ first year in fine style, label boss Scavenger presents their debut EP: Forest Of Illusion.

Taking inspiration from cryptic horror, b-movie camp, and video game classics, Forest Of Illusion is a delightfully off-kilter debut, characterized by a fuzzy and surreal atmosphere. Scavenger’s abstract narrative is perfectly encapsulated in all six tracks, depicting a descent into madness deep in the belly of a forest… all told through heavy bass music.

“Forest Of Illusion embodies everything I love hearing in music.” said Scavenger on the subject of the EP. “Distinct character and novel ideas are really what I strive for the most in my art.”

“Opener ‘Forest Of Illusion’ is the thesis statement for the EP and my music as a whole: weird, wacky, and creepy. ‘Rudeboy’ is like drowning on LSD. ‘Mannequin’ sounds like getting stalked at night by something inhuman. Everything here is soaked in bizarre spooks.”

With this eccentric collection to display their undeniably singular style, Scavenger is set to stand out as one of underground bass music’s weirdest - and most promising - artists.

Packed with 20 new tracks from faces both familiar and fresh and an accompanying mix from label head Scavenger, the first Anthology is sure to turn heads with its immense variety of sounds and styles, all assembled into a cohesive experience showcasing the best of Unbeyond Anthologies’ community and the wider underground.

Label inductees Scavenger, The Nilk, Elira, jztincase!, Stellar Dendrites, Cynik, F/K, and &RUE return to drop fresh material, and we welcome inductees QVEST, S0MBRA, Inkdot, and Echomorphosis for their debuts on the label. We also happily introduce amazing contributions from the likes of am (ARG), xsdr, Lilithpad, Prism Shards, Vision K, Extrenor, VLena, and Xedi.

Altogether, “Unbeyond Anthology One” is a defining moment in our evolution and a promise of great things to come. Expect auditory excellence behind every corner, and always remember… we’re all in this together.

Eclipse is a celebration of space exploration and an ode to the endless mysteries of the universe. I've aimed to make a loud and dramatic album that also respects silence and momentum.
