Explorations Mix Series

London's @giuliatess has been making waves for a while now, with releases on Jamz Supernova's Future Bounce label and a standout addition to Mor Elian's Fever AM compilation "I Hope You Are Well During These Strange Times".

Her deeply unique brooding, bassy and polyrhythmic sound has struck a chord and seen her garner upcoming bookings at The Cause and Fabric, while she's also found time to launch a side project named Mala Femmina. We're overjoyed to host a mix from her bringing together a wide range of flavours, expect to hear loads more from her...

Explorations Mix #13 - Giulia Tess

After an extended hiatus, we're back on the Explorations Mix Series, this time with one we've been waiting to put out for a good while now!

We're v pleased to welcome @louuss to the series and he did NOT come to mess about with this one. Hosting his flawlessly curated monthly radio show If It Moves on Vandelay Radio, he can be found spinning anything from dub techno to juke to bouncy pop edits.

He brings that same energy to this mix, going in hard but playing with the energy levels and contrasting dark and light moods. It's a phenomenal mix - hope you enjoy as much as we do!

Explorations Mix #14 - Nolou

We've got another fine addition to the Explorations Mix series, this time from the endlessly enthusiastic supporter of underground bass music @itswilljb.

Firing out mixes at a frankly terrifying rate, his smooth, downtempo mix for the @pollination-uk series caught our attention. He's on top form for his mix here, pulling together a wide array of dark, glitchy percussive heat in a way that feels fresh and foreboding, yet never oppressive.

Constantly flying the flag for the @more-cowbell crew, he comes correct with a selection of tunes from around the globe and from some of the best labels about. Showing a deep knowledge and passion for various sounds, this shows why he's one to watch!

Explorations Mix #15 - Bingle Beats

Next mix in the series comes from @s_o_w, a key member and co-founder of the @newscenery crew. New Scenery share similar DNA to Unbound in that they address the lack of diversity in electronic music by making space for LGBT, non-binary and minority individuals.

Their musical policy is similarly open-ended and is *fully* on show in this mix, with a wide range of colourful sounds, sassy edits and swaggy tunes stitched together in a collage-esque manner. Most of all tho, it keeps the Unbound spirit by being FUN. Enjoy folks x

Number 17 in our humble mix series sees good friend @mantissa1 co-founder @thomasallman-1 contribute a truly stellar guest mix.

These guys are dedicated music lovers with a formidable knowledge of a wide range of genres - this mix serves as a taster, providing a peek at their range whilst also being incredibly cohesive.

Explorations Mix #002 - DJ Winggold

For the third mix in our mix series, Spires & Phraxos - residents at London-based party Cosine Ldn - have turned in a wonderfully eclectic mix that spans cosmic psychedelic jazz, electro, soulful blissed-out grooves and slightly tougher sounds.

We connected with Spires & Phraxos online and it was immediately clear that we shared the same open mindset when it comes to music; they opened for us with an amazing 3 hr set at our party with A Sagittariun, confirming our initial suspicions that we were musical soulmates! Enjoy xx

The 4th edition of our esteemed mix series sees vinyl enthusiast Luca Schiavoni come through with 2 hours of emotive cosmic-tinged techno, electro and beyond. Recorded at East London's Hidden Sounds late last year, it's a beautiful journey through the cosmos.

South London based UKG specialist FAE steps up for the 6th instalment of our series and she delivers a seriously SIZZLING hour that sprints through a wide range of genres, all tied together in style.

Explorations #006 - FAE

Stepping up for #007 of our mix series is smooth operator, Analogue. Co-bossman of sick South London party More Claps, a chance meeting at Freerotation two years ago made our paths collide. We then hosted a joint party at Corsica Studios and the rest is history.

He comes correct with an absolutely FIERCE mix that starts off in 100 BPM territory, before rocketing up to jungle tempo, taking in breaks, footwork and banging techno along the way. This isn't one you want to miss!

Explorations Mix #007 - Analogue

After running parties in Manchester, a move to London and a new alias has seen the mysterious Liyō carve out a place in London's underground scene. As one of the team behind new party and radioshow Enormous Youngsters, his sound joins the dots between Techno, Dubstep, Garage and more.

His mix for us is full of headsy deep, dark flavours that pull you in - perfectly fitting for an individual shrouded in so much mystery... @liyomusic

Explorations Mix #008 - Liyō

London-based selector ohmydais has been on our radar for a while, and she's come thru for the 9th instalment of our mix series with nearly two hrs of PURE GEAR.

Completely tearing up the notion of genre restrictions, she comes through with a high intensity mix that maintains a certain lightness and sophistication. She's been making waves recently, with a supporting slot for Dusky being one highlight. Keep your eyes out for her...

Explorations Mix #009 - ohmydais

No. 10 in our Explorations Mix Series comes from the supremely talented Eclecticist (@eclectivity) who draws from a wide range of bassy sounds and styles. With the title of Pirate Studios' 2019 'Pirate Prodigy' winner under his belt and his regular Eclectivity radio show on 1020 Radio, he's been carving out his own lane.

Heavily influenced by soundystem culture from a young age, he cohesively weaves various sub-heavy rhythms together, masterfully flipping from deep, sumptuous sounds to light and euphoric shades at the drop of a hat. This one's a juicy one!

Explorations Mix #10 - Eclecticist

For No.11 of our mix series, we welcome @shubzin bossman and all-round hero @osckins. He's somebody who fully embodies the Unbound spirit, with his label Shubzin using music to create positive change - they've put out three name-your-price compilations in a year, with donations going to a range of charities.

His musical selections are similarly open-minded, splicing together numerous genres with signature flair and demonstrating his range with shows on Vandelay and Netil Radio. He's put together a madcap hour of jungle, footwork and more for us, smoothly gliding through different moods, never letting it get too overwhelming.

Explorations Mix #011 - Osc Kins

No.12 in our series comes from the mighty @foldldn resident @Jamesnewmarch, full on technical whizz and fearsome presence behind the decks. Having made a name for himself with diverse, nuanced no-holds barred sets, he slows things riiiight down to bring you all a tasty chuglection of sleazy, grinding tunes mixed with class and finesse.

Before the pandemic, he'd been gaining serious steam alongside FOLD bossman @voicedrone, taking the energy from their monthly UNFOLD party as far afield as Berlin, Ukraine and Poland. Prior to joining the FOLD family, he was resident for afterhours party Jaded at Corsica Studios, taking audiences right to the edge with slamming techno.
