Rekids serves up more scintillating techno this autumn with scene mainstay Marco Faraone making his return.

The Italian artist has long been releasing on the biggest labels of the day, whether that’s Drumcode and Ovum, or his own label UNCAGE. Often favouring big, powerful tracks distilled to their essence, Faraone is never far from a headline set at the world’s leading festivals, clubs and is considered as a core part of the modern techno landscape.

Big, cantering drums define opener ‘Don’t Need You’, the track’s title is repeated over and over like a mind melting mantra and you cannot fail to fall under its spell. The epic ‘Hardgroove Community’ follows with a wall of techno drum programming that will blow away even the largest crowds: razor sharp hi-hats, super charged bass and fist pumping vocal stabs are all effectively deployed to make this one pop.

On the flip ‘Survive’ is a darker cut with sleek and futuristic synths depicting some derelict urbanwasteland. Finally, ‘Not A Crime’ layers up dusty breakbeats and rattling dub chords with big female yelps into something all-consuming and brilliantly rib rattling.

When it comes to highly-rated up and coming techno acts Karen & Ty aka Black Girl / White Girl are head and shoulders above the rest. Perhaps best known for their releases on Green Velvet’s label Relief Records, the girls also have music on Skream’s Of Unsound Mind, Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars and Hector Couto’s Roush. Showcasing a wide spectrum sound for the discerning dancefloors of the world means everyone from The Black Madonna to Maya Jane Coles have shown support and their fanbase grows weekly.   

First up is the bumpy groove of the title track ‘Flexxulator’ with a funky acidic bottom end accompanied by clattering has, creepy laughs and nuanced rave stabs. Soulful Tech at its best. 

‘Green Crack’ ups the ante with phat kicks and loopy intensity. Its wonky bass completes the picture as vocal chops bring out the fun factor 100%. Whilst ‘Telepathy’ is a decidedly more hypnotic affair with its sparse percussion, a thumping low end and perfectly balanced melodics. It yet stays energic none the less. 

Finally, ‘Unfading’ closes out the EP with a blistering techno beat, some off-kilter FX and a vocal cut which adds that soulful touch.

Premiere: Black Girl/White Girl “Unfading”  – EI8HT Records

The 'New Generation' Vol. 1 combines a batch of high octane releases from some of the best artists and upcoming talent across merseyside.

First on the compilation we have the established powerhouse Tenzella, with releases on Circus, Odd and We Are The Brave he is now making his debut on IDentity with ''You Gonna Do What'', the groovey tom-driven drops and catchy vocal hook make for a strong lead to this VA, alongside label head Inafekt who provides us with the peak-time techno weapon 'Your Love'.

We also have former Identity artist John Molloy who has teamed up alongside Tmoran with their exciting new collaborative project named Erubus as they debut with heavy dancefloor weapon 'The Future'. We then move onto our fourth track 'Deadlock' by Arctek with their distinctive style of raw hypnotic techno. 

Finally we have new to the scene duo 'Synergy' as they present their debut with the powerful 'Police Brutality'. You might recognise Malcolm X's famous fiery speech within the track. An important 58 year old message with an indistinguishable relevance to some of the stories and events you will of heard of this year.
