07 Sergeant Jay - Good Vibes

Jacob Korn is back! After Uncanny Valley released his acclaimed debut album in 2012, he has been busy playing live, remixing, extending his studio and of course producing loads of new music. The first results arrive as EP1 just in time for summer followed up by EP2 later this year.
Jacob has always had a knack for producing distinctive House tracks that cause a stir on the dance floor. With EP1 he proves that he hasn’t lost any of his skills. On “Eisladen” he works a killer Highlife guitar sample and a synth-heavy break into a track that will put a lot of hands in the air this summer. “Arzt im Praktikum” starts with powerful cowbell-driven drumming and as soon as the devastating rave chords drop, the dance floor is turned upside down without a warning.
On the flipside we start with the graceful “Fahrt durch Tal” featuring Phillip Oertel who contributes a funky bass guitar melody. With his Midas touch, Jacob unites Philipp’s bass work with soulful vocals and spaced out strings and comes up with a contemporary Space Disco track of a special kind. Finally, we’ll get “Kokosnuss” which once again unveils Jacob’s love for cheerful hooks. With the acidic synths and the stomping drums the track almost has an old school feel to it.

With spring's early mornings and sunnier days, we're excited to introduce the next chapter of our Deep Breakfast Series, featuring Amsterdam-based artist Paduan.

Patric Kimman, aka Paduan, is a DJ and curator passionate about introspective electronic music. His sets blend drone textures, subtle melodies, concrète sounds, and natural elements, showcased on his Balamii radio show and the "Into the Universe" event series with Will Oirson and Vincent Rang.

In this episode, he takes us on a journey through immersive soundscapes that evoke tranquility and encourage self-reflection, seamlessly blending ambient and experimental textures. Paduan’s work fosters community and dialogue around contemplative electronic music, pushing creative boundaries and inspiring emotional exploration through sound.

Next up at Edwin Music channel is Berlin-based producer and DJ @benediktfrey and his close friend @menqui with whom he co-runs the label R.i.O.

For EDWIN MUSIC CHANNEL, he joined forces with his friend Menqui, who is overseeing the administration for the R.i.O. label, is part of the Berlin-based Muting The Noise Record Store and Distribution crew, runs a radio show for Cashmere Radio and plays regular in all those small, but delicate Berlin bars and little dancefloor venues. Together they prepared an epic mix, created live and direct in Menqui’s living room, featuring all sorts of music from pop, Trip-Hop, and Hip-hop to free-tripping electronic grooves. The Path Of Least Existence - w/ Thomzilla - 10May2025

Collection of Memories tells the story of where my music begins, with original recordings used in my album Blurred Memories and personal sounds that have inspired me. My Vietnamese heritage has shaped my music through the sounds of martial arts, pagodas, home cooking, dragon dances, and more.

This is a collage of those memories:

My grandmother arrived in France after the Indochina War with her ten children. The Vietnamese families who left Indochina at that time arrived in France by boat, and some were settled in an empty village in the center of France called Noyant. There, they recreated a little Vietnam to feel at home, keeping traditions and habits alive—women wearing silk pyjamas, grilling skewers in the garden wearing bamboo hats, listening to Vietnamese bolero all day long, and built a pagoda. As children, my cousins and I would always play there, next to the huge black statue of a sitting Buddha, with the sound of chimes hanging in the trees.

Every year, our family gathers in this village on the day of my grandmother’s birthday (a random date that was assigned to her when she arrived in France). We spend the weekend cooking in enormous rice cookers and pots—caramelised pork and delicious grilled lemongrass beef skewers. My uncles light firecrackers, and then the dragon dance begins. Everyone takes part—cousins, aunts, uncles, and the little ones—playing drums, dancing under the dragon’s head and tail.

The dragon dance is traditionally performed by martial arts practitioners. Viet Vo Dao (Vietnamese martial arts) holds an important place in my family and connects us all. My uncles and my father are masters and each founded their own school many years ago. Every summer, we gathered at the martial arts camp organised by one of my uncles—this was our family holiday. I recorded many sounds from these sessions, including traditional weapons and instruments.

Hanoi has also been a huge source of inspiration, helping me understand the origins of certain family traditions and behaviours. While living there, I recorded many sounds from daily life: karaoke singers in the streets, celebrations I could hear from my home, women chatting, cooking, or yelling in the alleys, traditional concerts in front of pagodas, martial arts sessions...

As we enjoy the summer season, we are delighted to welcome Paragon, the talented curator of the 315th Deep Breakfast mix.

Paragon means a person is regarded as a perfect example of a particular quality. Always open to exploring different sounds, as of lately, Paragon has been discovering more relaxing or different realms of electronic music or IDM. Nowadays you can find in his selections mostly from ambient, broken beats of techno to different types of drum n bass. He has been the curator of the podcast series Parallel Perception, where you can also experience his vision and taste in electronic music.

"This set is part of my Sunday morning routine. Me and a cup of coffee and records that I put in for the quiet mornings. I picked some of my favorite records that I keep coming back on a regular basis. It's not super polished but it's honest something that helps me to wake up and have a good day. Hope it keeps you good company, wherever and whenever you listen to it."

For this live show, Albrecht integrated sounds from the surroundings of Wehrmühle and experimented with more organic production.

Starting as a label that served basically as a platform for their friends’ music in 2010, Uncanny Valley evolved into a record label that assembles acclaimed artists from the electronic music scene not only from the label’s base in Dresden but also from Germany and beyond. With a strong emphasis on the records’ artwork the label heads Philipp Demankowski, Conrad Kaden and Carl-Johannes Schulze are constantly on a mission to establish and refine the artists from the roster as well as to search for new talents. Artists as Jacob Korn, Cuthead, Credit 00, Massimiliano Pagliara, CVBox or Panthera Krause all feel at home on the label, giving them the chance to develop projects that are not only music related but can also integrate different art forms.
