In March of this year we saw Jimpster’s Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP fall on expectant and eager ears, winning praise from the likes of RA, DJ Mag and Groove as well as plays and support from a host of the worlds best radio and club DJ’s. With the majority of the LP being more home listening than club-focused we decided to call in some of our favorite producers to rework a track of their choice for the dance-floors and here we present you the first part of the amazing results.

KiNK needs little introduction of course, except to say that his live set as well as his hands on hardware approach in the studio has seen him become established as one of the most exciting producers of the last couple of years. When he agreed to remix Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (a track he incidentally referred to as his favorite of the year!) we couldn’t have been happier and knew that something very special would come from it. When he got in touch to say he’d done a version but explained it was done live in one take with all the parts being tweaked in real time making it very hard to change anything we were even more intrigued and excited. As expected, what he delivered is an intense, high energy reworking full of piercing high’s and rattling lows, keeping the original chords and many of the keyboard lines in place but injecting a raw drive and improvised feel which has already seen it become a highlight of Jimpster sets this summer.

Andre Lodemann provides the perfect antidote to KiNK’s frenetic version in the form of his Towards The Seer Remix, going for a tight, emotive, late night groove which develops slowly, teasing out the arrangement and keeping things sublime and understated. Subtle bass twists and dubbed out FX build to the extended break where we’re introduced to the original’s acoustic bass riff in all it’s glory. Another brilliant Andre Lodemann production.

Paco Osuna's Mindshake record label presents a special release featuring two techy remixes of Basement Jaxx's 1997 classic 'Fly Life'.

First of the remixes is by Project00, which is the collaborative alias of Paco Osuna and Fer BR. Second of the new versions is a solo rework by Paco Osuna.

One of Spain's most iconic electronic music artists, Paco Osuna is one of the country's most accomplished DJs and respected producers. Having travelled the world to play headline sets at festivals and clubs, he has also released music on labels ranging from Richie Hawtin's Minus to John Digweed's Bedrock.

Fer BR is a fellow Spaniard, who is well known as a solo producer who boasts releases on a broad cross section of labels including techy tracks on Adam Beyer's Truesoul and house focused cuts on Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird.

Project00 is a shared alias used for when Paco Osuna and Fer BR collaborate, and it's usually focused towards techno tracks with driving energy and jackin' grooves.

The release opens with the dark atmosphere and hypnotic groove of the Project00 remix, which blends immersive hypnotics with fast-flowing percussion. Paco Osuna's solo remix takes a deeper approach to deliver a tech house version that's perfect for the dance floor.

Jacob Korn is back! After Uncanny Valley released his acclaimed debut album in 2012, he has been busy playing live, remixing, extending his studio and of course producing loads of new music. The first results arrive as EP1 just in time for summer followed up by EP2 later this year.
Jacob has always had a knack for producing distinctive House tracks that cause a stir on the dance floor. With EP1 he proves that he hasn’t lost any of his skills. On “Eisladen” he works a killer Highlife guitar sample and a synth-heavy break into a track that will put a lot of hands in the air this summer. “Arzt im Praktikum” starts with powerful cowbell-driven drumming and as soon as the devastating rave chords drop, the dance floor is turned upside down without a warning.
On the flipside we start with the graceful “Fahrt durch Tal” featuring Phillip Oertel who contributes a funky bass guitar melody. With his Midas touch, Jacob unites Philipp’s bass work with soulful vocals and spaced out strings and comes up with a contemporary Space Disco track of a special kind. Finally, we’ll get “Kokosnuss” which once again unveils Jacob’s love for cheerful hooks. With the acidic synths and the stomping drums the track almost has an old school feel to it.

Quickly following up the last, instant sell-out smash, Shir Khan's infamous "Black Jukebox" series hit us with the 12th edition. Introducing anonymous project Aussteiger who gets things bouncing with the Summer house monster, "Bangbao". Lush filter sweeps, twinkling keys and powerful bass are order of the day here as the producer works his magic on one of the sunniest grooves we've heard this year. "Return" keeps that outdoor terrace flavour but plunges us deep into the twilight, tribal drums and deep electronics locking us into its hypnotic recess. Martin Lewis contributes a seriously fun and summery version of "Now That We Found Love", utilizing glorious xylophones and horns throughout the melody and letting it roll out with aplomb. Finally, we get the cheeky "Do It" edit which combines hypnotic congas with funky guitar licks and a sun-burnt, Latin energy to create a sizzling brew of hot dancefloor energy. Great stuff! The French tastemakers over at Delicieuse Musique have been busy compiling their first in a series of VA releases. Liquors No.1, a smorgasbord of deep club tracks is due to hit the shelves in mid February and will be also available on vinyl.

We’ve got the exclusive on Jesper Ryom’s contribution ‘Pacer’. Throughout its seven minute duration, it morphs into a beautiful sunrise track, comprised of piano melodies and an undulating bass riff. If there’s one track that you listen to today, make it this.

With a strong emphasis on the records’ artwork the label heads Philipp Demankowski, Conrad Kaden and Carl-Johannes Schulze are constantly on a mission to establish and refine the artists from the roster as well as to search for new talents.
