OTW Premiere: John Rolodex - Snowdrift [Machinist Music]

Our second release sees one of the most prolific Swiss producers step up with a fat EP full of heavyweight bassline tuneage. Dayni from Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland has released tracks on a variety of labels, most notably on BTK’s Dutty Audio as well as on fellow Swiss label Drum Army. His trademark are sparse, hypnotizing yet experimental sci-fi rollers with the proper amount of energy needed to create impact on the dancefloor. We are pleased to feature a tasty selection of Dayni’s distinctive style & quality in our first run of releases and always look forward to his future output!

1. Naked UFO
Detuned pads, paired with a fierce kick and snare create an eerie feel of suspense when the EP's title track drops out of nowhere with a warping monster bassline and relentless, catchy groove, keeping things very low-key but interesting thanks to intricate changes in percussion and delicate little bass & fx hits.

2. Generation
Cold synths and a crystal clear drum break, expertly laced with chord stabs and bass chops create tension before hitting hard & deep with a minimalist wobbling bass and everforward percussion. The call & response pattern of the bassline carry the track in typical Dayni fashion, this is 21st century Tech Step at its very best.

3. Always you
Starting of with melancholic piano licks and minimalist, slapping drums, female vocal fragments shine over the barrage of deep rolling bass. Authentic dancefloor D&B with soul & passion.

4. The Innocent
Widescreen synth swooshes and a lo-fi B-movie speech sample build things up for to unleash pure bass mayhem on the drop, this is peak-time anthem business for the hyperactive D&B steppers.

We are excited to have onboard Austrian OGs, ROYGREEN & PROTONE, who take a detour from their jazzier side into no-nonsense halftime and LAKEWAY, whilst still fresh off the Med School boat, delivers a marvellous dark liquid club banger.

Stateside, Unchained crew member and skinny git, AIRSTRIKE makes his debut by embracing Unchained’s mutant bass ethos and disguises it in dirty, smelly, “roller” clothing with his tune Lion Up. 

Canadians GROVES and OAKK are back with two totally wrong face-tic wonky wobblers and we also welcome fresh outfit 3VS's (Akuratyde, Tellus and Monika) who have thoroughly owned this gorgeous, atmospheric yet menacing, sunrise belter.
