When Mad Zach’s Fortress EP hit way back in 2017 it was obvious that it would go on to become a genre classic. Two years on and the EP still feels like a missive from the future so what better project to close 2019 out with then a full-on remix project of the EP? 

Enter heads like Dub Phizix, Chee, Hybris and Yunis all queuing up at Plasma Audio headquarters to try their own hand at flipping Mad Zach’s original bits. From slow-burning lurchers to strychnine-laced heaters, the remix EP is the perfect soundtrack for those long, dark nights of winter on the way.

Unchained launches into 2020 with it’s first multi-artist compilation celebrating its ethos and vision for edge-driven sound. Forming part of a new annual release series, observing the Chinese lunar calendar, “The Year of The Rat” compilation brings together some of our favourite producers on the label and welcomes some gifted new members into the Unchained family from various corners of the globe - including China, Europe, the UK, the States, Australia and Canada.

SENTIC CYCLE steps up, showcasing his ability to fuse rhythm, grit and aesthetics into a unique low-end half-step gem.

Mentored by one of the geniuses of the Portuguese Bass scene, the wonderful late Razat, RIP, Carlos Salgueiro, producing under the moniker Dead End, has come from deep hip-hop roots to passionately embrace what has been labelled as the ‘future sound’ of Bass music. Tasteful pallets of abstract, ethereal structures, raw powered-up bass movements and artfully composed, but heavy as fuck, beats are just some of the ingredients.
