Short, eerie, and shadowy. Sparse instrumentation leaves room for tension — like waiting for something that never quite arrives. A beautiful exercise in restraint and mood-building.

No Lights

Veteran producer/mixer Michael James (New Radicals, Hole, Edwin McCain, Robben Ford, L7, Kalimba) steps into the spotlight with a soulful instrumental guitar joint. Legendary blues/jazz guitarist Robben Ford (Miles Davis, Yellowjackets, Steve Vai) wrote: "Obviously inspired and very meticulously done.  You can hear the soul in it, which makes all the difference for me."

The album begins introspectively with "The Gate", a subtle nod to Wes Montgomery and James Brown, blooms into the feel good summer vibe of "Love Is The Spirit Of Life", then shifts into a Zeppelin meets BB King workout at the halfway point, "Remover Of Difficulties." It then chillaxes through the Morcheeba influenced trip hop of "Redemption" before the 70s fusion/blues of "Let's Keep It Real. "

Bigger Than You Know (First Song) ft. SWAD

This is one of the very first tracks I ever made, back in 1998 or 1999.
  
  It is intended as a tribute to William S. Burroughs. You can hear his voice throughout. The creaky sound was used to represent his rocking chair, on the porch of his home in Lawrence, Kansas.
  
  I imagine him sitting back and thinking over his life and being ready to move on to the next stage of "life."

Just an instrumental bass thumper with a surprise calypso chorus. Also- there is a version with CL Smooth from the track "Climax" by him and Pete Rock I may upload later.

The Frontier Drifters is chiefly an alternative rock duo, but the band has been deeply influenced by many kinds of music like: soul, blues, jazz, progressive and folk rock.

Pongo Face creates instrumental music for visual media. It's eclectic in its approach and showcases a wide variety of influences.
