Originally from Venezuela, currently based in Panama.  Hernan grew up loving electronic music & technology ever since he can remember. 

First gig as a DJ was back in the late 90s while going to college in Funky Town. TX.  He was a regular at local bars and played across different genres because of the international scene he used to frequent.   

His sound has no boundaries.  In his sets and productions, you will find a reflection of his diverse upbringing & taste.  Electronic World Music moving across different genres would be the best way to interpret his sound.

His live sets will get you moving and through a journey of different emotions.  Besides the traditional DJ set, he also performs a Hybrid set to include more of his personal touch & live creativity.

Currently he is a resident for Radio Venao in Panama where he been part of the line up the Radio Venao Gatherings which includes international and local artitsts.  He has released 6 production tracks and also last year launched his own musical brand: Boutique Sessions.

Hope this way takes you on an unimaginable journey.

The bus is an instrument that can be made to sing. Choosing a track is like taking the right guitar down off the wall. The idea for this set was to give that instrument a top to bottom workout, allowing the crowd to experience its many octaves. 

This is also a sampling of my intuition for what’s to come for our genre. As we coast past the ten-year mark, a lengthy run for any music style, we naturally look to what’s next.

The sounds in this set are the edges that I hear beginning to touch each other. I’m highlighting the precursor, the beginning point as fresh sounds converge with those we are more familiar with to create something new. The recipe is far from complete, but I hear a “what’s next” in the mix. 

Those of you tuning in hoping for a follow-up to my 2019 set, not to worry; that will be shared at the 2022 burn. 

2019 was entirely my own music and was effectively an album release. It’s true what they say about sophomore albums, they are in many ways harder than the first, and they certainly take time. I’m putting the finishing touches on that now, and I look forward to dancing with you in a few short months. Until then.

I started DJing as a COVID-lockdown hobby in 2021, uploaded my first set with the "Sarasvati serviert" Podcast by Kollektiv Nachtkerze and now actually played my first Liveset with an actual real life audience at Kollektiv Nachtkerzes Event on May 28th, 2021.

Get to know Hernan B

-What inspired you to start making music in your beginnings as a music producer or dj

I love the way people from different backgrounds, countries and cultures can connect through electronic music.  Also, I love new technologies so the first time I heard electronic sounds it make feel in the future.  As a producer I was inspired by the challenge to be able to put together sounds that would help me tell a story and touch others.

-Can you describe your first ever gig, what did you felt?

My first gig was back in 1999 while I was in college and it felt exciting!  It was a party for international students.


- What advice can you give to newcomers that want to be like you or any other influential dj?

My advice is to listen to all kinds of music to explore which sounds and styles move you best.  Then identify those elements to come up with your own style.  But always be open minded and flexible to explore and learn.


-What has been the most difficult experience as a producer or dj, how did you overcome it?

The most difficult was learning the technical part of production software.  Still learning but initially was frustrating. The solution was  being patient and spending a lot of time studying.  Because music is my passion, this always overcomes any frustrations if I focus on the musical aspect.
