Exist no.18 brings two very special UK artists - Steevio & Duckett

Steevio is a live electronic musician who runs the Freerotation Electronic Music Festival, Mindtours record label, and Freerotation record label with his partner Suzybee. Steevio specialises in live improvisations on an analogue modular synthesizer, and records everything as one off tracks in real time. He also performs live as part of AV duo Steevio & Suzybee in clubs and festivals worldwide.

Duckett is a producer and performer from Wales and a core resident of the renowned festival Freerotation. Releasing on labels including Until My Heart Stops, Freerotation, Wisdom Teeth, Greta Cottage Workshop, Galdoors, Bercuise Heroique, etc his music is difficult to pin down but sits somewhere on the edge of house, techno, ambient and experimental.

He hosts a monthly show on Mutant Radio and is about to launch his own label /platform. Highlights worth checking are his Boiler Room live studio sets and Hessle Audio radio guest appearances.

Steevio's DJ set consists of all his own darker techno and broken techno tunes, mostly vinyl releases, a couple of digital only releases, and a recently recorded live jam. Much of this material hasn’t been used in his mixes before.

Ducketts mix consists of entirely exclusive material comprising some upcoming releases and more predominantly includes some exploratory live studio jams at 90bpm.  All fresh material.

Exist Palestine brings forward the highly talented local artists and the brightest musical visionaries in the global electronic music scene. Exist seeks to build bridges between international artists, Palestinian sound innovators, the many that have been displaced, and musicians who are unable to attend the festival due to politically set testrictions. The lineups consist of artists who participated in Exist Festival 2019 as well as the ones who will be invited to play the next editions.

The @BLITZClub residents Jona & Ferdi aka „Glaskin“ crafted and honed their sets over years in their mothership. If you have ever witnessed one of their live sets, you might know what their vibe is. After landing an Underground Hit with their track „Slim Line“ the both gained an international reputation and people started keeping an eye on their releases. With recent output on Mutual Rytm & their own imprint YAEL trip the brothers showcased their constantly evolving sound and love for groove. No matter what these two are up to they’re always heading towards quality!🪩✨
For this mix they blended vinyls & digital tracks, creating a mixture of groovy, timeless music from the 2000 era & unreleased music by themselves as well as some of their favorite producers from the present. The result is a mix filled with a wide range of uplifting grooves, funky techno & nasty breaks with lots of love for music. Right on time for the arriving Summer heat!❤️‍🔥

The first FrenzyPodcast will be provided by two brothers from Munich that go by the name of Glaskin. Specialising in their own distinctive take on music, the duo are currently residents at the renowned Blitz Music Club of the same city. Showcasing a high energy sound, combining the past with the present, have led them to releasing on some well-established labels in the scene and having their Berghain-debut last month as part of the Spandau20 label night!

The mix they created for the FrenzyPodcast series has been one full of inspiration drawn from their set at Berghain. It’s a hybrid of vinyl and digital which enables them to connect the past with the present and their own work perfectly. Listen to the sound of Glaskin for FrenzyPodcast 169, enjoy!

Leizure is back in action with Huerta's fourth EP on the label entitled, “Pan’s Grotto Jam.” 

— In the heart of an ancient forest, concealed by twisted vines and moss-covered rocks, lay the hidden grotto of Pan. Pan, the mischievous and jovial god of nature, reclined against the vines idly. With a sly grin, he brought his enchanted flute to his lips, sending ethereal notes rippling through the air. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, the creatures of the forest, touched by the god's mystical presence, found themselves swaying in a gentle dance beneath the trees.

We are pleased to welcome @nikizi, one of our dearest friends and an extremely talented artist for this month's installment of Equal / Distant.

Nikizi has always been passionate about music. When he was a child, he was exposed to music at home, from rock to soul music, and soon discovered the hip-hop movement thanks to french rap, around the age of 11. Since then, he has been locked to it and it has acted as a huge influence to his productions.

Shortly after, he discovered electronic music when first going to clubs during his teenage years and started to be part of the underground scene when he first started Djing and promoting parties around the age of 21.

Without further ado, we invite you to listen to this lovely set which includes a selection of his favorites and influences. This is a truly special mix and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
