We love his set and that’s why we share it with you!

CBLS 267 – Compost Black Label Sessions Radio – guestmix by Boogiemann (Which Way To The Stars)

I used to be part of a band. We named it P.O.R.N [People of Religious Nature]. 

It was an ensemble of friends who were extremely talented with sound engineer: Dominic 'Mex' Zenzo [Zimbabwe], Guitarist/Bass: Pat Arp [USA], Keyboards: Rafa Varazza [Mexico], Percussion/Drums: Sebastian Modak, [USA] Vocals/Rapper/Poet: Ngozi Chukura [Nigerian Motswana], Rapper: Shorty Bang [BW] and me too on the mic...we were unstoppable. Sadly we broke up like lovers with only a memory of the sleepless nights we spent that winter of 2008 in studio cooking up W.T.F [Word-Truth-Fortune]. We were like the Digable Planets of Botswana's musical landscape. We made some amazing stuff, this is one of the track called Cloud Burst which is a song that was inspired by Pat Arp and we featured the young songstress, Setso. This was probably our second studio track.

Next up on the Delsin off shoot that has so far offered up excellently deep house from Son.Sine and raw sounds from Gunnar Haslam is Sven Weisemann.  Known for his deep, atmospheric and cuddly house and dub on labels like Telrae and Mojuba, he draws on the heritage of Detroit and Chicago at the same time as imbuing tracks with his own sense of smoky, jazz infused soul. 

Up first here is 'Nijo', a crisp, crackling cut with heavenly pads and whispered vocals as well as a jostling, punchy drum line. It’s the rasping, bounce bassline that really sets things off, though, as it dynamically moves around and takes you with it every step of the way. 

Then comes 'Icaria', which again is smeared with blissful ambient pads, but also comes riddled with a lively, propulsive and buried deep drum line that makes this another forcefully deep house track despite its sensitive emotions. 
 
Lastly, 'Landscape' is a beatless dub excursion with synths shooting through it like rays of light through a deep ocean. A slowly churning current drives things along as you are left suspended in the midst of it all and this one closes out another superlative EP from both Delsin and Weisemann.

a South African underground music legend. Showcasing his incredible depth of musical knowledge and renowned mixing skills, Kat has created an hour long journey that takes the listener through a wide range of feeling and atmosphere.
The mix starts off with a steady rhythm and echoing effects held together by sparse percussion, before Kat picks up the energy with signature ease, as stuttering claps swirl over dramatic synths and rousing basslines.
