As you may or may not know, Collective States (formerly Mongo) are very avid sci-fi fans (so much so it drives us f#*king mad to be honest)! So it’s our great pleasure (or pain depending on which side of the fence you sit on) to attach a cheeky nod to the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel. Taking influence from the 1982 original soundtrack, this track has been pricking up the ears of some of the early recipients including John Digweed (who has featured it on his Transitions show several times recently), Sasha, Kolsch and big High Tide Recordings label supporter, James Zabiela.  

It’s been a great summer for Collective States with both their “Krypton and “Planet Mongo” releases charting highly in Beatport whilst picking up support across the spectrum of dance music from the likes of Carl Cox, Hot Since 82, Joris Voorn, Deadmau5, Jamie Jones, Dubfire, Eats Everything, Sasha, John Digweed, Alan Fitzpatrick, Kaiserdisco and James Zabiela to name but a few. Exciting new live electronic duo UNDERHER are releasing their latest EP, ‘Triggered’, via own label IAMHER on the 15th February. The release includes the duo’s original title track, plus four remixes; one from rapidly rising twin DJ/production duo Lunar Plane, one from popular Italian mau5trap affiliate Seismal D, and one from the fledgling talent Lerr from Montenegro. Kalden Bess, one half of UNDERHER, rounds off the package with a club focused remix of his own, produced alongside upcoming talent and friend UNDFND.

The original version of ‘Triggered’ is emblematic of the distinctive sound UNDERHER are carving out for themselves; sensual, cinematic and evocative, a blend of the sultry tones of the RnB that first inspired Jess with a dark and deep techno mentality. Quality songwriting is also central to the UNDERHER production process: here, Jessica’s hypnotic, breathy vocals allude to an insatiable sense of longing in a controlling relationship. 

This EP is the latest in a productive period for UNDERHER studio-wise. They released their first “official” EP, ‘Inside’, in October last year, and have since followed that up with the ‘Dark Souls’, ‘Mercy’, and ‘The Departure’ EPs. They’ve also officially remixed Moby, U2, and Booka Shade - who were so impressed they signed up the duo for a collaborative EP on their own label, due out later this Spring. UNDERHER’s incredible live performances - with Jessica on vocals and Kalden on a full electronic setup - have also seen them support the likes of HVOB, SOHN and Haelos, and play festivals and club shows internationally such as Stereo Montreal, Piknic Électronik, Uberhaus Beirut, Sisyphos and Katerblau Berlin, and Blue Marlin Dubai. They will be making their headline London debut on the 6th March, and will also be playing the main stage of Goa’s Sunburn Festival and the Carribean SXM Festival over the coming month.

An artist who continues to impress with a growing portfolio of high-calibre music, Hot TuneiK returns to Proton Music with the striking twin-track "Circles of You". Remixes come courtesy of Hungarian and Argentinean stars.

DJ, producer, promoter and record label owner, Hot TuneiK has found himself at the forefront of Mexico's underground dance scene. Unforgettable Hookah showcase events and a unique brand of deep and progressive house have seen regular appearances for the likes of Balkan Connection, Sound Avenue and Particles amount to almost 300 production credits. An April 2018 EP for Proton Music shone a spotlight on the Hot TuneiK name before remixes from Lanvary and Matter continued the "Revival". Now returning, the flowing melodic lines of "Circles of You" meander enticingly before a deep beat and rich percussion filter into range. Building majestically, a simple grooved arpeggio provides another rhythmic anchor before extending in range into the third movement. White-noise washes add to the overall character in an elegant work. Partner track, "Melancolia", opens with a deep and flowing rhythm that hypnotises with its muted melodic underpinning. Weaving a magical spell, cadenced arpeggios and freeform string and key motifs are sprinkled liberally across the upper frequencies to mesmerising effect before joining forces with the sumptuous rhythm in the second half.

Hungarian duo Peter Makto & Gregory S are no strangers to success. Founders of the Truesounds Music label and DJ agency, their hard work has seen them become high-profile names at home. Simultaneously, a production career has found the duo on the catalogues of some of the finest labels that include Bondage Music, King Street Sounds and Go Deeva. September 2018's "Purple Rain" saw a full debut on Proton Music with a glorious twin-track offering and a remix of Michael A's "My Style" earlier in the year is now followed by a hypnotic reworking of Hot TuneiK. Using the arpeggio sequences found in "Circles of You" to impressive effect, Peter Makto & Gregory S have created a mesmerising remix that retains dancefloor character with chest-thumping kick and ticking percussive flavour. The coruscating patterns of Hot TuneiK's rich chord progressions add further depth in a compelling track.

A relative newcomer to the underground dance scene, Sebastian Sellares has quickly found himself as a sought-after producer under his own name and Monje moniker. With a "driving progressive house style" that has seen his work feature on Or Two Strangers, AMITABHA and PHW Elements, support has come from Hernan Cattaneo and Graziano Raffa. Now debuting on Proton Music, the Sebastian Sellares remix is an elegantly crafted affair that makes intelligent use of original components as a foundation for an array of new musical ideas to flow. The central riff from "Circles of You" plays a pivotal role as new motifs ripple around it in shimmering delay. Making their presence felt at the stripped back mid-point, they emerge into the third movement backed by a wonderful new bassline that ties superbly to the driving beat and high-cadence percussion. The result is sublime affair hallmarked in quality.

Centrifugal forces keep Hot TuneiK's "Circles of You" spinning with ever-increasing power.

Tomas Tejeda - Reborn (Original Mix)

AM005 took a turn at the last exit and ended up in a very dark and mysterious place. Resident of Istanbul, Mehmet Akar has gone dark on this one. The original mix is an underground techno monster full of groove. Perfect for the after-hours or warmup. The first remix is by Matias Chilano, who is very well known for his uplifting and emotional music… but not this time. This is a massive peak time tune. Full of energy and drive. The second remix is by Sharkstar, which is a new techno project started by Hamed Safi (one half of progressive-house kings, Beat Syndrome) The Sharkstar remix is another massive peak timer that will have you stomping the floor. With all the percussion in this mix, it drives harder then a locomotive but still is very groovy. All 3 mixes have the very dark vocal parts and are very techy.
