"The next Undersound chapter is curated by Israeli artist @gal-prz under his PRZ moniker. While the producer has been known for his rougher outings, here he delights us with a mix of italo-inspired 4/4 jams and electro and break tracks composed in his hardware-laden studio. Both “Under Control” and “Luv Trk” on the A-side offer a peculiar view into the artist’s style and inspirations, with arpeggiated bass lines and evocative emotional leads.

“Expiration” on the flip side hits the listener with its punchy 808 snares and moody vocoder. “One Day” and “The Answer” offer different but complementary moods to close off this diverse EP, with the melancholy and emotion of the former contrasting the playful 303 and synths of the latter, all driven by a chugging 909 breakbeat."

Rome native Allesandro Adriani is something of a synth-wave obsessive and Mannequin Records, the label he now runs from Berlin is the manifestation of his disorder. Mannequin exists across two spheres, functioning as a platform for reissues from artists such as Italian synth-pop duo Degada Saf or German post-punkers Taste Of Decay whilst releasing music from newer bands such as Led Er Est and artists like Mushy and Beau Wanzer. Originally funded by selling ‘Magic: The Gathering’ playing cards found in his basement Mannequin was initially conceived as a distributor for the lost music Adriani stumbled across in record shops and garage sales: post-punk archaeology. By the time of the re-issue package ‘Danza Meccanica - Italian Synth Wave 1982 – 1987’ in 2009 the project had evolved to became a fully fledged record label and now has over seventy releases to its name. Whilst the stylistic range of the label remains broad the imprint maintains a distinct identity by channelling the loss, melancholy and spiky angst of late 1970s and 1980s European punk and electronic music down through its artists and releases. This mix recalls the darker tones of the original post-punk, synth wave era whilst charged with a fresh angst and loss and the caustic tragedies of a world alienated from itself.

This first EP called "They Will Come" includes four powerful techno tracks of Hadone, laced with a funky flair and accompanied with a solid remix from Mørbeck.

Jeremy aka Hadone is one of these interesting new artists emerging from France. He already burned several clubs in the last months. Producing for many years now, he is taking his inspiration in all different kind of music and field of creation. A lover of dirty and fat rhythmic, raw and pretty straight forward, Hadone is a perfect mix between some 90's killer tracks and some of the finest modern techno.

B1. SHLØMO - NAPALM (KAS:ST & RAAR REMIX)

Berlin is a Techno Utopia. 

Straight from the dungeons of electronic music’s best parties, Voxnox Records keeps on delivering uncompromising heat for the dance floor - since almost six years now. And with its third Various Artist compilation dropping August 23rd, the rise of this independent label, collective and agency continue to grow in multiple directions. 

Berlin resident @lars-huismann teams up with @chriskoegler  on "Ripped Dreams“ meaning epic pad programming also teaming up with some most energising groove patterns in here. Meant to be played on a big system, this track feels ecstatic, yet liberating and most definitely rave oriented with its synths and small developing zenith. 

@alignment-3  definitely spells hotness on "Can You Hear Me“ - a beast of Kick/Synth harmony straight from and for sweating and eventually soaking rave. With it’s small but therefore stimulating vocal fragment it fusions shaking drum patterns with ever pushing melodies. 

Third in this row is @thambln's "Intoxication“ which is nothing less but an invitation letter straight from the warehouses of East-Berlin. Giving a marching groove some serious rave-pads, with essentially turning down into an epic break to drop most effectively just afterwards. Just fire. 

Up next is a collaboration between Barcelona-based @poligonism and  @lorenzoraganzini’s "Metal Works“ perfectly blending a forward pushing groove with detail works on the major scale, eventually burning the floor down with its ever-rising and not stoppable energy. 

The label’s A&R and powerhouse @septonly steps things up on „Suicide Generation“, bringing what he’s most known for: efficient power. You may realise his fractions and particular versatile style on every single element of this heatwave, linking powerful arrangement with his forward attitude. 

@opal-berlin opens up the bigger curtain of this release with "Acid March“. An energy rising tune, combining shuffled hats with synthesiser-influenced drives sure enough to transport serious escalation moods while playing it out. 

Newcomers "@blame-the-mono“ come from Youkounkoun and step through by flipping and chopping an old school acapella in its most effective way. On banging synth-lines and some forward pushing groove galore, probably kicking the most out of the speaker system. 

Last but not least is France’s new talent, producer & DJ - @quelza and his contribution "Olimpian Orbit“ rising dark pads, a continuous climax and unique drive-by bringing diverse and ever-evolving patterns, perfectly matching a hot night’s deserved finale on this compilation.

Anna Haleta has running events in abandoned locations, car parks and deserts with her friends since the early noughties, her party Pacotec has managed to achieve a staggering seventeen year run. Anna’s sets often touch on acid, electro and techno, whilst incorporating elements of noise and other esoteric sounds from beyond the more beaten paths of sound. We shared a little time with Anna to discuss something of her history, Pacotek and its evolution and life during lockdown.
