After a first succesful release, Lyon based crew YA.R is back with their second release that brings you a different vibe, darker, more energic that leads toward the deep hours of the night.

Aladdin starts with the brighter track, a light track, which will bring you a silly smile and which borders on derision with samples of phone commercials, riffs of old school Trance and acid lines.

Funktroid take the A side a step further into the Trance flavour, this one will hit the dancefloor just the right way it has to be done, big acid lines that will melt your face down and airy pads that will raise your conscience into a higher state.

The B side welcomes our guest Obsidian, a project started by 3 talented space explorer. As you can hear their music comes directly from the year 2123, they will take you on an interstellar journey with their spaceship moving at speedlight with no feel of disturbances.

Then we have our local heroes Sela & Zgelt who invites you to share their mystical beverages so that you can land gently from this journey while contemplating the stars and the interstellar void.

Numéro 4 kicks off with the tone setting, progressive Italo-dance adjecent anthem ‘Ready To Fly’ by Sarah Wild. Up next is Kochs & Schön’s collaboration on ’Sweet In Mind’ which merges the pairs signature sounds into an emotive, versatile track playable in multiple contexts. Keith Holland’s ‘Arte’ effortlessly blends classic 90s house motifs with a modern touch. Closing out the impressive four track is Belgium’s DC Salas and ‘Moving Shadows’. The track is a journey through the extremes: dark basslines vs euphoric melodies, embodying the essence of our world: a world full of contradictions. An expertly compiled V/A, Numéro 4 brings together tracks which are both complimentary and different in equal measure.

London-born producer @F-D returns to The North Quarter with his new “Lanta Nights EP”, to be released on June 12th. After his masterful debut album “Better Days” - which transcended genres through a richly detailed palette - he now returns with a more compact piece: all killers, no fillers. Drawing influences from Dub, Hip Hop and Soul and mixing them with his London club roots, his growth as an artist and technician is clearly shown on this diverse but signature sounding 5 track EP. Lanta Nights kicks off with two vocal tracks: the first - Lie To You - is a delicate soulful track featuring Akemi Fox,with the second - The Feeling - a 90’s Hip Hop inspired jam featuring KinKai. The EP then dips into rolling Dub inspired science fiction mayhem for the final three tracks. Essential listening. 

“There isn’t a theme here really, because as an artist I find it important to express myself in a wide range of styles” FD explains. “It’s just me trying to put my own spin on what for me are ‘classic’ Drum & Bass fundamentals, expressing them in a contemporary way. I want to try and retain depth and honesty in my music, something that has been important to me in music since I first got into it.”
