Now, in 2024, in a "digital” world where fewer and fewer things can be touched with our fingers and where 100,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify every day, Factor City is charting a different course and starts a new decade on the dance floors by returning to vinyl releases and persisting in their low key and relaxed approach, releasing few and carefully curated records from their artists each year. 

“Ciudad Futura” opens with "Good Times," a track by Undo that radiates joy and positivity. An euphoric ride through landscapes of analog synthesizers and drum machines. The second track on side A is signed by Undo & Vicknoise, who hadn't produced together in 15 years. And we hope they won't take as long to get back in the studio together after hearing the fantastic track "Electric Rainbow." A delightful slice of electro-disco. The B side is signed by the recent combo of Undo and Casiowaves. The first track, "Secret Worlds," follows in the wake of their recent releases on Factor City and Melodize with that winning combination of retro 80s and 90s synths with vocoders and a more contemporary production. It is a pleasure to welcome back Darkroom Dubs favourite Undo (aka Gabriel Berlanga) with Naranja Lima - a vibrant 2-track EP packed tight with luscious synths, rich tones, and evocative melodies. With an impressive back catalogue of original productions, open-minded live and DJ sets, and his imprint, Factory City, Gabriel is an established contributor to Catalonia's ever-evolving underground electronic music scene and beyond.

The feel-good title track, Naranja Lima, has a Balearic optimism throughout its five minutes of blissful energy. A laidback, joyous bassline engulfs you in a warm ray of sunshine, whilst light and airy synths float and flutter away like leaves in a gentle breeze, giving the feeling of having stumbled into a paradisical setting, far away from the constraints and worries of everyday reality. It perfectly encapsulates the uplifting feeling of a sun-soaked dancefloor filled with smiling faces no matter where you turn, the soundtrack for a carefree summer afternoon Terrace session.

The second track, Liquid, flows in a more emotionally charged, melancholic direction, sculpted by an array of complex sonic elements which meld together to form a rich electronic soundscape. A powerful arpeggiator with a warm, gritty character leads the charge and provides the dynamic, raw energy. A stuttering, jittery pad fills the peripheral space, immersing you in euphoric atmospherics. The break then reveals a contrastingly delicate, lush, ethereal melody which emerges from the dense harmonics, inviting you to close your eyes and be swept away, guiding you deep into the depths on a revitalising mission.

This could have been the set I was gonna play last Thursday 1st July at the awesome Vida Festival. Gig got cancelled when I was at the doors as I was positive in my antigen test. Really sad. But I'm gonna play next year. In the meantime, while confined, I've recorded this set using only tracks that I selected to close one of the open air stages at the festival.

Undo & Casiowaves - Nothing to Say (Original Mix)

Following up last year's dramatic and well-supported Acid Summer, Undo returns to Darkroom Dubs with a release genuinely worth phoning home about.
Three tracks deep, Aliens Go Home is the Spaniards most comprehensive release for Silicone Souls label, with his cosmic grooves stretching and mutating in all kinds of directions.
We open with Portamental.' A playful take on the idea of portamento, it carries us smoothly into Undos never-ending world with its rippling hook and infinite chugging bassline. Resplendent with a touch of dark disco, a dash of deep house and a whole tonne of synths, it is the perfect opener.

The title track, Aliens Go Home' follows it's a much darker trip thats more direct and purposefully off-kilter. With powerful beats, a bubble-some acid bassline and carefully weaved human vocal elements into the mix as percussion, theres an otherworldly feel running throughout that will make all space cadets feel homesick.

Last but not least, Yellow Spark brings us back to reality with crisp electroid beats, dubbed-out waves and a sweet-but-solemn vocoder vocal. Poignant, emotional and electric in its intent and sentiment, it concludes another beautiful EP for Darkroom Dubs.

Vicknoise was the alter ego of Victor Palomo, also known as Shelby Grey (DJ, producer, and co-founder of Factor City Records alongside Undo). Producing and spinning, his imagination ran wild and limitless. Inspiration came from everywhere, from the roots of techno and electro, Chicago, Detroit, house, and disco, to soundtracks and avant-garde electronics. A true connoisseur.

Unfortunately, Victor left us in September 2024. This album is dedicated to his memory with a selection of some of his best tracks on Factor City. It includes an unreleased track with Sistema and two tracks with Undo that were only published on vinyl.

LATIDO is proud to present Bicho Raro, the new EP by veteran Spanish producer Undo, a key figure in the country’s electronic scene for over two decades. Known for his emotional approach to club music, Undo delivers three original tracks that showcase his unmistakable flair for strong, memorable melodies and subtle intensity.
From the cinematic drive of “A Shot In The Dark” to the playful weirdness of “Ornitorrinco”, the EP blends warmth, groove and just the right amount of strangeness. The track Ornitorrinco is presented in two different versions, each offering a distinct take on its quirky identity and melodic tension.
The release closes with a remix by Russian producer ODOPT (Private Persons, Born Free), who reshapes Ornitorrinco into a darker, more hypnotic piece, pushing the track into murkier, serpentine territory.
